Threw my back out on Saturday

I am so sorry this has happened. What would you like to see some pictures of that you really like...we will get some , and I am sure they will be unique. :) If not ,no need. I just would like to help you feel distracted for awhile. Do you get real sleepy when taking the pain pills? I do. I have to take Tramadol occasionally. If I take them every 4 hours after 2 I start getting sleepy. Hey, I am a big fan of sleep too. 🤗

Bretrick, meant to say. Ever since I put my back out years ago, I've had a folding cane with adjustable feet, right next to my bed..

..mine is much prettier than these.. but the point being that if you get one with the non slip feet, and have it standing next to your bed head.., then if you wake up again in agony, you'll have a support to hold onto, to at least get you up...

Sleeping is great. I take medication that makes me sleepy. Luckily I enjoy taking naps and will do if needed. I try not to sleep too much otherwise I might not sleep at night.

Excuse my tardiness in replying, in the doldrums understanding how my life will be effected from here on.
Back is tender and I need to take extreme caution when moving.
The pills eventually lead to tiredness and I do have a lie down midafternoon.
Pictures of things I really like?
Baby Wombats are the cutest lil things about.
As are baby Tasmanian Devils.

Reminds me of the old joke:

#1: Did you ever throw your back out?
#2: No, but I'd like to.
I would love to throw my injured back away, for sure.

I will have a look around for one of these. Thank you Holly
That’s great that you are improving. It’s good that you are getting professional help. I wish you the best.
Thank you. Improving slightly, but still in the danger zone of reinjury

1707613978240.jpeg Baby Tasmanian Devils are indeed downright precious! 🤗 Those tiny, playful creatures with their striped fur and mischievous expressions are just the cutest. Plus, their conservation success story adds to their charm! 🐾💚

Have you had any Wombat or Devil pets. They ARE adorable. I WANT ONE!!!!! :)

Took me a full 5 minutes to get out of bed this morning.
Awful back pain when dressing, walking, even sitting.
Made an appointment for a Chiropractor this morning. Awaiting phone call to see if a spot is available.
My back throws itself out maybe once a year or every 18 months.

I have told people the only pain I have ever had that is equivalent to throwing my back out is the pain of childbirth. It's that bad. I've had it so bad I could not stand up straight - walked around bent over if I got out of bed. It can be what they call blinding pain - it's so bad you have trouble thinking about solutions. Last time it happened I didn't even go to the Internet to query the best remedies. I thought maybe a heating pad would help so I went to bed with heat on it.

Turns out, that's WRONG. I should have tried icing it first.

They tell you to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Neither of them do much. Aspirin actually helped the most. Tried a muscle relaxant once - what a joke. Get to be dizzy and sleepy but still in great pain.

The solution is to rest and stretch, IF possible! Rest, ice, heat and try to stretch. Try aspirin.

I went to the chiropractor yesterday, x-rays revealed a slipped disc in the lower spine.
Also noticeable was a degenerating spine which is normal for someone my age working in heavy industry.
I had a spine adjustment and will have several more in the coming week.
This morning I was able to get out of bed without the agonising, gripping pain, though the pain at the moment is sustained
at about level 7. Pain killers should allow me to get about, not pain free, but not so severe.
Not sure if I should go back to work with this issue which might be ever present.
If you are at a level 7 for pain, why are you going to work, unless you must for financial reasons or fear of losing your job?

Do you wear a brace at work? One of these things: 9 of the best back braces
