Tidbit of health information...

Works for walking too. My wife loads up my Cocnise player play list with 240 or more random songs by random artists. Never know what song will be next so the boredom of walking goes away. My wife probably has about 20,000 songs that she can load into the player for me. 240 works out about right for the battery, other wise the player is supposed to hold 1000 files.

I used to study, accompanied by music. The way I could tell I was really concentrating was that soon, I no longer heard the music. Even though I don't have ADHD, I do have the ability to easily slip into hyper-concentration. I can talk to people during it and sound reasonable, but I don't remember the conversations. Nor do I remember to eat. The longest I can concentrate like that is 12 hours. I don't like it. I especially don't like it because I can't listen to audio books while I'm driving long distances. Never had any problems when I zone out while driving, but it is scary to think about what could happen.

I like to listen to music while doing chores. My mom always played classical music, but I prefer dancing music. I do stop from time to time to dance, which was a much longer break a few years ago than it is now.

Then you might be singing Mozart's Twinkle, Twinkle little Star. ;)
Well, I don't zone out any more. I can't listen to audio books, but I can listen to music while driving. Mostly I concentrate on what the drivers around me are doing. Road trips are really boring, but I'd rather be bored than get into an accident.

OTOH, zoning out while waiting a long time for something is easy for me. I can think about other things, or daydream, and the time goes by in a flash.

I have no idea why I am this way, and it can be frustrating.

I haven't actually worked in 2 years, but I listen to music the entire time I am at the gym and sometimes in Starbucks if their music doesn't suit my taste. I can't wait to try my Airpods out when I walk around our lake, but our summer started in May when I bought them so it hasn't been an option. I'm just imagining how freeing it will be to walk around the lake listening to music while the temps are in their 70's. I can see why music could make you more productive.
