I remember loving seeing the store windows all lit up in the dark when I was a kid, and even when I started work at 15 years old.. and would be walking home through the city at 5pm after finishing as an Office junior, and the magic of the store lights in the dark was something to behold ..especially for a kid who had no moneyThe only time I liked turning the clocks back was when we had a retail store, and I enjoyed putting the store lights on an hour earlier because they were so pretty.
Same here, Holly. I do not like it to get dark at 4 pm.Tomorrow night once the clocks have gone back it will be dark at 4.45pm ..and then it will get darker earlier and earlier till March
Time to consider a move to the southern hemisphere...Tomorrow night once the clocks have gone back it will be dark at 4.45pm ..and then it will get darker earlier and earlier till March

yes we know all about the Queens' clock winder, every year there's some article about hiim somewhere when the clocks change .. I think he said it takes him about 40 hours to change all the clocks in the Palaces..... You'd think they'd have gone Radio controlled by now wouldn't you ?@hollydolly I just read an article about clocksat the Queen's residences...there are more than 1500 of them! Imagine being the person whose job it is. He's called an "horologist". Bet he's tired after he's seen to it that every single one of them has been set back, and that "extra" hour of sleep can't possibly be enough to suit him
