Time to Fall Back again...change those clocks

The only time I liked turning the clocks back was when we had a retail store, and I enjoyed putting the store lights on an hour earlier because they were so pretty.
I remember loving seeing the store windows all lit up in the dark when I was a kid, and even when I started work at 15 years old.. and would be walking home through the city at 5pm after finishing as an Office junior, and the magic of the store lights in the dark was something to behold ..especially for a kid who had no money

I can't wait to change the clocks next weekend as I prefer more daylight in the morning during the cold winter months. I am not out much at night so I don't care when it gets dark. I especially love it in the spring then I can get up at 5 a.m. and hear all the birds singing and be able to see them.

There was a major booboo by Bell, one of the Big Three Telecoms. In some areas phones were automatically set back an hour. Alarms went off late. Even though Bell fixed it, some may have to reboot. Let’s hope they read the news.

Funny story was the lady at work to set her clock ahead instead of back. There was no traffic on the way to work that day.

I don't like the time change coming up on Sunday either .... too much darkness as it is now.

I bought a bright LED flashlight yesterday, for my walks everyday. We have lighting around our apartments and the court area, but it never seems bright enough anymore, especially in some spots .. so I'll probably be out there blinding people:eek:

@hollydolly I just read an article about clocks🕑 at the Queen's residences...there are more than 1500 of them! Imagine being the person whose job it is. He's called an "horologist". Bet he's tired after he's seen to it that every single one of them has been set back, and that "extra" hour of sleep can't possibly be enough to suit him;)

yes we know all about the Queens' clock winder, every year there's some article about hiim somewhere when the clocks change .. I think he said it takes him about 40 hours to change all the clocks in the Palaces..... You'd think they'd have gone Radio controlled by now wouldn't you ? :sneaky::ROFLMAO:

I just wish they would pick one time and stick with it. Every time there's a change, I have to get my dog used to it. She's used to waking me up at a certain time and making me start dinner at another certain time and now I'm facing that struggle of wills, that she usually wins.

As someone that values outdoor activities especially in natural areas, I have long been a vocal advocate against unbalanced day light savings time. Greatly prefer standard time where the sun at 12pm noon is at its highest altitude evenly balancing daylight hours before and after. DST has always been promoted by leisure and retail industries that have the powerful media and politicians in their pocket since they are the source of most advertising revenue and political funding.

I would imagine most of those clocks are very old and can't be controlled electronically.
