Tiny homes, motor homes, any kind of small homes.

I like how people are using the shipping containers. If I have to replace my garden shed, I may look into getting one of these. There is a company about an hour south of me that has them for sale. I haven't looked into the prices, which would be the deciding factor, but it would be sturdy & low maintenance.

The one thing I read about covering them with dirt, is you have to be careful about the weight of the dirt. I am also curious about what they are doing about waterproofing to prevent any type of leakage or rust damage.

My boyfriend bought one last year to use as his workshop. I think it was $1500. and he had to pay more for it to be delivered. He also had to get a permit to have it on his property (NY state, you know).

@katlupe, we are in a rural township area of Ohio & if it's for farm use we don't have to bother with permits. We keep our lawn equipment in it along with tools, etc.

We would also have to have our delivered since I don't have a trailer big enough. I do think our front end loader would be able to move it where we want to sit it. I need to do some more checking on them & what kind of a base/foundation they should sit on. I have noticed more people getting them for storage since they are so strong & able to be secured better than a regular shed. The one thing I would like to do is put a slant roof so leaves, snow or rain wouldn't have a chance to pool on top.
