A short thank you to the good men here who have strong characters and big hearts. So many criticisms lately I want to say that I appreciate all the good men who have been in my life and recognize the men here who are caring and loving husbands, sons, brothers and fathers to their children. The males who treat all female members of their family starting with their moms, and women they associate with every day with courtesy and respect and never speak or behave inappropriately. I know there are a lot of those good men right here and women who appreciate them too. Thanks, we didn't forget you

Thank you Stormy, I was raised to treat women with respect..I know most of our generation have also..

So true Stormy. All the men in my family have been wonderful. The hubby and I get into it occasionally and he was brought up a bit differently than I was but basically he is a very decent man and has always been respectful of me and all he comes in contact with. My son is the same way.

Ken, that goes for the daughters too. A girl who grows up in a family where her mother is loved and cared for by her father is a very lucky girl indeed. If on the other hand her father treats her mother badly she is likely to accept bad treatment for herself in her later partner(s).

My husband made a promise to my dad that he would always look after me and he has faithfully kept that promise for 55 years. In retrospect I recognise that this is the main reason why I have always been safe from molestation. Between my dad and my husband I have been cherished and have never been vulnerable to seeking attention from the wrong kind.

Very true,Warri. An old friend of my son`s ended up on the Sheriff`s Arrest Logs on Saturday for Felony Spousal Abuse and Felony Willful Cruelty To a Child. His child is 12,and a close friend of my granddaughter. My son cut ties with him years ago, when he got clean. But he says him beating up his wife is nothing new-he was doing that when she was his girlfriend 11+ years ago. Makes me wonder if his daughter tried to stop it and he swung on her too. Or if she was the one who called 911. She is such a sweet little girl too :( But like I told my daughter in law,all this girl has seen is that it is normal to beat up your wife. I hope she wants better than that for herself. And by the way,my daughter said the family was out for pizza two nights later-all one happy family. Except that she said K didn`t seem very happy-not her usual smiling, bubbly self. Ugh.

I'll join you in the thank you Stormy, well deserved. Two good men from my family are just fond memories, my father and my brother....but I'm blessed to be in the company of a good man for over forty years now and enjoying my golden years with him.
