Happy St George's Day to all the Poms on this forum, and to all those who are not, as well.

My St Georges Day gift is some quotes to inspire you all on this happy day.

I especially like this one from Boris Johnson. It expresses something great about the English sense of humour.

"Ping-pong was invented on the dining tables of England in the 19th century, and it was called Wiff-waff! And there, I think, you have the difference between us and the rest of the world. Other nations, the French, looked at a dining table and saw an opportunity to have dinner; we looked at it an saw an opportunity to play Wiff-waff."
Boris Johnson

Ooops I must apologise, the post should be to all ENGLISH members.:very_drunk:

Perhaps some of us are proud and patriotic to be English on this our Patron Saints day.

Good for you Bee you should be proud of your nationailty IMO...I'm Scottish and very proud to be although I've lived in England for a long time, I may not agree with the politics but I'm certainly patriotic towards a country that's given me a very good life, .

Happy St. George's Day to all you English men and ladies. Happy Saint Day to those to whom it applies, and a happy day to all of you. May the Bird of Paridise rest lightly upon your shoulder.
