Today is the First Day of Summer! Any Plans?

Anyone have any Summer plans? :sunglass:

Those were the days back then in Ft Lauderdale Florida but today I'm celebrating the 1st day of SUMMER in the air-conditioning (heat index of 104 degrees) with a homemade chocolate shake.

I blended up 6 ice cubes (that makes it extra cold) with chilled almond milk, 1/2 frozen banana, Trader Joe's vanilla ice-cream, and TJ's organic Midnight Maggie Moo chocolate syrup.

mmmm, Summertime and the Livin' is eeassyyy.

If I bring homemade pie of your choice, please may I visit?

Thank you Shalimar! My choice of pie would be a Peach Cobbler Pie with Crumb Topping and a dollop of Vanilla Frozen Ice Cream , and a tall Iced Tea Unsweetened and a fresh sprig Mint Leaf!

...and then I'll bake YOU your pie of choice if I can come visit your beautiful houseboat you're housesitting :praying: lol.

And, thank you Sawduster. You come too and make bring us something pretty you made in your woodshop :)

Nah Lara ...it’s the first day of WINTER :winter1:
We don’t get snow ...but it’s pretty chilly here ....- 3 this morning ...top of 13c for the day

Awww, yes I was thinking of you all in Australia when I posted this thread and didn't want to leave out our Aussies.

So, just for you, I'll make you a Hot Chocolate using the recipe from the "Chocolat" movie but beware, it's got a secret ingredient in it that makes it an aphrodisiac (okay I'll tell you...hot chili pepper...just enough to make your cheeks flush)

:shussh:

You are most welcome, Lara. Consider it done. I even have fresh mint from my garden. Blackberry pie and whipped cream for me, and you are most welcome on the houseboat. Honestly, it is so posh it feels like a hotel. Loll. I have never seen anything

like it. He fills the freezer with gourmet yummies for me to eat, all organic. Sigh. Ice wine. We can have musical evenings. I will play his piano, other residents play instruments also.

Oh, your daddy’s rich and your ma is good lookin’
So hush little baby don’t you cry.

Ok now you have me singin’ Lara.
If I could record it I would

Now about that shake
Yes please....

Thank you Lara you are so kind doing that for us freezing Aussies :cheers1:

Most of the summer will be just trying to survive the heat. This Sunday I leave on my long awaited Mother/Daughter trip that was planned a few months ago. We are going to tour New England, my favorite place to be. Many childhood memories.

I hope it will be cooler than in Jersey.

I'm already packed.I cleaned the house from top to bottom and will change the sheets just before I go. I have bit of OCD when it comes to that.
Instructions are on the refrigerator for the hubby. My Son will be around also. Simple foods bought and frozen so he doesn't starve. Reminders to water the flowers, change the bird cage and clean the toilet so I don't come home to a green one. I think
I covered it all except to wish all of you a great summer.

In my youth (younger years), I Loved Summer. Now, it's a royal pain in the lower extremities. The wife and I don't handle the heat as well as we used to, and rely more on A/C now more than ever. My favorite season is any but summer, bah-humbug. I'll just hibernate here in my computer room and patiently wait for fall and winter. Don...

Macfan, you loathe summer? Don't fret. Fall is only 72 days away! Hang in there.

Remember, pool...A/C...icy drink. pool..A/C...icy drink. Repeat with occasional popsicle :D

Keesha, you sing beautifully...sing it, sister!

Falcon, you sing great too!...you two need to do a duet!

I'm so so happy for you to follow your dream like this!!

Sounds like you're all ready to go 2 days early! Aren't you smart and energetic. And holding those 2 "boys" together.....you're their glue. That's meant to be a compliment lol.

Will be trying to stay cool in this Houston heat. Will take a trip in September to see my sister in Louisiana. We will shop in the little shops, visit parent's graves and frequent the drive through liquor store for margaritas, and visit old high school friends. Eat the traditional Louisiana meat pies at the local meat pie café and float in her new pool. Between now and then will continue getting rid of stuff I don't need or want anymore.

Said it better's I could!

Seems we had a "cold front" here in NC where the temps were all the way down to 90-93 degrees lol (yes, the weathermen were seriously calling it a cold front) and we're going to have 90-93 all week.
So, okay, I've tweaked my milkshake and removed the 1/2 banana because I need it ICY...no sweet creaminess, just ICY :winter1:

So that just leaves 7 ice cubes, cold almond milk, a little vanilla ice cream and a squirt of Maggie Moo chocolate syrup. Blend. Pour. Drizzle a pretty

snowflake design on the top for thinking positive  ...the best we can hope for is a brain freeze.

I don't care if the sharks love warm water...I'm heading to the beach this weekend as long as my daughter's new air conditioner is finished being installed. :shark::shark::shark:
