Would you get on the super fast roller coasters and/or super tall ferris wheels we see today? Did you get on lesser rides in your youth?

When I think about it it scares me but I did go on a roller coaster about 11 years ago and laughed my head off on it. It was fun. Don't know if I'd do it today...As for the ferris wheel, no, I was on one once and that was enough for me. I felt very scared when they stopped the ride and I was at the top! No, not for me! :)

I don't think I would. Not a season goes by when you don't read about some of these rides going terribly wrong. When I was young I didn't give it a second thought.
As a teen I was hurt in the Fun House in Palisades Park NJ. There was a sofa that you sat on,the seat went out from under you and sent you down a large carpet that turned on rollers to move you forward. I guess I was seated in to much of an upright position and I came down on the roller. I thought I cracked my tale bone. I was in pain for weeks.

I love roller coasters, the gf can't tolerate them. Haven't been on one in about twenty years.

I can't take the rides that go around on the horizontal, spinning from a central axis point, like The Octopus. Had a bad experience as a kid, in the school playground, with the local tough guy spinning the roundabout at an amazingly fast rotational speed. I got sick when I got home, ran a fever, missed a day of school. Thereafter, the same thing happened to me on a much larger scale ride. One more bad experience wised me up. Never again!

I like ferris wheels. No problems with vertical rotation.

When I was growing up ,I remember going on the wooden roller coaster 'The Comet' at Crystal Beach in Fort Erie,Ontario.
We took The Peace Bridge which connects U.S with Canada to get there
I have no desire to get on any of the new rides

I used to love going on roller coasters when I was a kid. The new ones are different, though. Much more extreme. They don't even look fun to me any more. I'll take the old ones any day.

I have never liked any amusement park rides. I get motion sickness riding in the back seat of a car, so I know my limitations.:eek:
