Anyone ever have one?...I have one now, and that tiny sucker hurts like all hell !!! I keep trying to "pop" it against one of my teeth...but it just won't burst.

Any ideas, home remedies ?

In some cases, that'd be pronounced 'tongue blithter'

Been awhile, but I've had 'em

if I remember correctly, gargling cheap whithky helpth
and if it don't, thwallowing can dull the thentheth

here to help

My grandmother always said that a little bit of alum placed directly on the blister for a minute or two would help to clear it up.

Spit out the alum, don't swallow it and don't rinse!

I've always just lived with them until they decide to clear up on their own.

Good luck!

I don't get blisters anywhere when I think about it. Is this a virus thing? Wonder.

When something in my mouth bothers me like skin issues from foods I keep these on hand and they work for me all the time: Myrrh Tincture, Tea Tree Oil and Oil of Oregano.

I happen to have some tea tree oil..think I dab that on..see what happens ? Damn thing is raging again today ! Hard to believe that something that small could hurt so bad . Makes it difficult to even eat....maybe I'll lose a little weight...?

"I have them occasionally and the pain is awful! What helps me is Bactine. If it doesn't help it go away any sooner, it still helps with the pain!!!"

Disregard this post! I remembered after I made this post that it was fever blisters I used this on which is on the lip. My suggestion was one where my mouth got started before my brain. Good luck with finding something that helps!

It's a canker sore. I'm told it's caused by eating too much acid but I never verified that. It will go away.

Now I need to figure out what I have been eating too much of? I so seldom eat anything different..I can't imagine what it could be ?

Tea tree oil helped [somewhat] but the tongue is constantly wet...it doesn't last long on there. Let it run it's course I suppose ?

Appreciate all the replies......

Clove Oil is supposed to be good in relieving pain inside the mouth, including toothaches. Anbesol can be bought at the drug store and works well too.

rgp: I'm so sold on antioxidants and my mother used to get cold sores and colds (not like your blister) but once I got on grape seed extract back in 1995 and found what it was doing for me I got her on it, she was 85 at the time and didn't get another cold sore or cold for years, she passed at 91, but had some good years with no colds and cold sores.

Yes, I believe in Clove Oil too, BUT, I believe in getting to the "root" of it all...like getting immune system Strong...

Right now on another group a person gets boils, and gone thru abx drug like candy and FINALLY working to get to the root of Why the boils...one or more sites talk about immune system.

I get those sometimes and yikes they really hurt. I usually look in the mirror at my tongue and if I can see it pull it out with my fingernails. Sounds awful but it helps me.

Ouch, I won't put my fingers or nails in my mouth....I just came off an awful knee infection from a MD's needle and have gotten paranoid about infection now.

I'm not sure I want to know the answer, but I gotta ask - how in the h*ll do you get a blister on your tongue?

I think that may be one of the great mysteries of life. They just appear. I don't get them often, but when I do, the part I hate most is they slow down the eating. :)

I had a blister on the roof of my mouth a couple of times over the years from eating something too hot, like hot cheese on a slice of pizza. I think I just rinsed several times a day with warm water and salt. I wouldn't break the blister before it's time, there's a lot of germs in the mouth, and it might cause infection.

Thats exactly how I get them and get rid of them. Mine have always been due to injury of some sort. I’ve even gotten them from accidentally biting the inside of my mouth. I’m sure there are other reasons but the end result is still the same; a blister forms as a way to protect the injury. Popping it will just result in another one forming and slow down the entire healing process. Salt works well especially since the mouth is already wet.
