Fallon will take over the Tonight Show on Feb 17th.
Ive watched the "late night with Jimmy Fallon" and for some reason he doesnt have the humor or style that Lino has.
So Im going to pridict the "Tonight Show" with Fallon will fail within a year.

I don't know, Davey. The young people seem to like Jimmy, and maybe it's that his humor appeals to the younger set. I'll miss Leno, but then I liked him way before he took over the show. Guess we'll see how it goes; tho I think he'll lose a lot of the older fans.

Johnny Carson was the best. I agree! Leno was good, but I don't care for Jimmy at all. Like Anne said, maybe the young people will like him better, but I like my humor to be funny (and clever).

I wonder whether young people even observe the tradition of watching The Tonight Show anymore. Do you realize it will have been on the air for 60 years this year?

Steve Allen was one of the creators and its first host beginning in 1954. I've always admired Steve - a genuine guy, smart and witty yet clean. Jack Paar was a non-entity for me - not sure why, I just never liked him.

Carson was King.

Leno, O'Brien and Fallon? Of those three I would choose Leno first, Fallon second and O'Brien a very, very distant third.

If Fallon falls, maybe they should ask someone like Tom Hanks or, even better, Sir Anthony Hopkins. ;)

I loved Steve Allen, but I wasn't old enough to watch him on the Tonight Show.

Let's bring back Johnny Carson, I loved him.

Jay Leno is OK. Jimmy Fallon I don't find him funny, I find him highly annoying.

Different strokes for different folks.....I loved Carson! I didn't work a good deal of the time he was on and enjoyed watching him on a regular basis. I fell in love with Fallon on SNL and tape his show every night. All those shows are way too late for me to stay up and be able to work the next day.. I also tape Jimmy Kimmel regularly, depending on his guests. With Fallon it doesn't matter who his guests are, I think he's incredibly talented.

I think Letterman is a genius, and sometimes tape for certain guests, not often. Think I've overdosed, watched him religiously for years. As for Leno, very nice man, but he's not my style in humor and I totally understand why he's being replaced. Like I said...different strokes for different folks.

Carson fan here. I don't stay up late enough to watch any of the night shows anymore. Some of the humour is great but it is all about people pushing their new movie or book. I'll watch when Phil gets a spot promoting his book, but until then, I'm in be early.

Even if they begged me to be a guest I would refuse, unless they made contractual promises for:

  • Hot pepperoni pizza in the green room
  • All audience members must purchase multiple copies of the book
  • Sofia Vergara sits next to me on the sofa
  • Free and easy access to small furry mammals

How about Sofia in the green room, and pizza on the sofa?? :p

You left one out, Phil, a new toilet seat! All the popular lady celebs ask for one and so should you....with your already ongoing problem after Edna and all....

Phil, we're going to be very upset if you don't give us advance notice on any appearances you may make.

I'm looking at Anne's post and thinking you may want it reversed...Sofia on the sofa and pizza in the green room....just sayin'...

You folks will be the first to know, promise.

Actually I've been thinking about Sofia on the pizza on the sofa ... talk about hot and spicy!

. Carson was tops. I like Leno but quit watching on a regular basis after carson left. Hang in there Phil, all things are possible, with-in the imagination.
