Too early for a Christmas tree?

This morning my sweet DIL sent me a picture of their Christmas tree they put up.
She said with the 2 week Freeze (shut down) in Oregon they needed a bit of cheer.

At first I thought, wait, what? It's not even Thanksgiving!

But she's right, we all need to find a bit of cheer in our lives in these trying days

So, yep, my tree is going up this evening. 🥰

Anyone else thinking of an early Christmas tree?

No..we've stopped having Trees up now, we're rarely here at Christmas, altho' we will be this year. However it's such a faff to get it all unpacked and down from the loft, and all dressed only to do it all in reverse a week or 2 later, given that we can't have any friends here this year due to the pandemic, it's too much trouble....

I have a 4ft pre-lit tree, alternating lights. Last year I put a 50 gallon trash bag over it and put it in my storage loft.
I just took it down and now only have to uncover and plug it in. 😅

In driving around town, I see a lot of outdoor displays up. But here, I think people were taking advantage of the run of good weather we have been having. I have not been out at night, so not sure if they are lighting up the displays yet. A couple friends have put out indoor decorations.
Only thing I have put out so far is my collection of snowmen. I only have 4 or 5. My latest thing is to buy a snowman every year. I keep them out all winter.

One of my neighbors has their tree up and also lights in their window. I'm going to get my little tree out of storage and put it in the living room sometime soon as it will be a nice distraction.

One of my neighbors has her tree up ~ year 'round! I am so use to seeing those blinking lights thru her curtains. I'm surprised her cat hasn't destroyed it all of these years.

IMO that would take the fun and excitement out of Christmas, having ones tree up year round?

That would be like having someone drop-off a birthday cake for you 365 days a year and then on the actual day of your birthday drop off another.

Birthday cake ... every single day? Sounds yummy! lol @Aunt Marg , I would not have a Christmas tree up ...year 'round. I bet this tree has quite an accumulation of dust.

ROFLMAO!

I have to admit, Pam, the cake does sound good, and you're right about an accumulation of dust and debris on the tree, but for me, even though I'm not a kid anymore, decorating it each year and then lighting it up is the highlight for me.

Definitely helps get me in a Christmas spirit, as does Christmas music.
