Yesterday, one of the local radio stations here in Buffalo decided to start playing Christmas music 24/7. Their decision was based on a viewer poll
When I heard this on the news,I thought to myself'OMG,,this is way too soon
The more reasonable date would be at the end of this month
What do you think? Sue

Yep too early... I hate it when I'm walking around the Mall in November and they're playing Christmas Music, by the time it gets to the actual day I'm heartily sick of it...

Too soon for me too. This sounds like the Hallmark channel that has started playing Christmas movies 24/7. They have stopped the I Love Lucy series and others like this for Christmas movies 24/7. Now if they want to do that on their movie channel only, that's fine. But, why can't we have a choice. I don't get the movie channel but I do get the one that has old TV Classic shows on it. They have been doing this every year for some time. I would hate to listen to Christmas music 24/7 too. It just seems like they over do it to me.

Way to early. The week after Thanksgiving would suit me just fine. I'm also sick of those Christmas movies. I wish they would show some of the old Christmas musical shows like Dean Martin, Andy Williams,Perry Como and many others who had a Christmas special. Maybe they didn't record them back then.

I love Christmas music but YES it is too early. I try not to get into Christmas until at least after the American thanksgiving or the end of November BUT THEN I’m a singing my silly face off until well into the New Year.
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
Yep! I’m annoying!

Not at my house! all my inside is decorated and now working on the outside and we never miss one of the Hallmark lovely Christmas movies, so glad they made a bunch so they could start early to get them all on, nothing say's Christmas like Hallmark! so pleasant to get away from murder & mayhem and @#% politics on TV.

Too early.

IMO the commercial Christmas hoopla has become ugly and depressing.

We need to get back to the reason for the season and focus on family instead of stuff.

Yes and all those sappy Hallmark movies are now on.
My husband can’t stand it:lofl:

I'm with your husband. I'm not a sappy romance type, in books or movies.
Hallmark takes away programs I like to watch for two months.

And I believe that Christmas music should be confined to Christmas week.
Otherwise, it gets meaningless.

Curmugeon alert!

Too soon for Christmas music? I'll say yes, but it doesn't affect me personally any more. I NEVER, EVER go to shopping malls ... EVER! Seldom even to "big box" stores. Never go to restaurants that have music (or televisions) going. I never listen to the radio, and the only television I watch is the occasional program on Netflix. She and I will watch two or three favorite Christmas movies in December. But I agree, starting the seasonal stuff this early in the year is nothing more than tacky commercialism

When I was young, I used to enjoy almost any kind of music (except opera and Gregorian chants) at virtually any time, but with age that appreciation somehow slipped away.
