Toyota is closing down manufacturing in 2017. Bound to happen, it isn't a charity.
Quote of the century: "The Abbott Govt has (killed) car manufacturing in Australia"... from who else but the midget minded Bill Shorten. ahem and cough Billy boy, but who killed Ford? and Holden? and all the other manufacturers who fled overseas to make a profit?
"50,000 skilled jobs lost!" well that'll put a serious dent in the union coffers and by extension the Labor Party's.
Interesting times. No free lunches Bill. You can hang on to those outdated workplace perks and you can have all the wage awards you want but, the good old days of having your cake and eating it too are gooooorn. They aren't addicted to cake in Asia.
We'll have the highest paid unemployed workfoce after Spain. Congratulations.
... and yes there is more than just the high wages, there's transport costs, small market, tariff stuff-ups, lots of things that we've overlooked and been left behind on. But they weren't all made on Abbott's watch, they are just the results of decades of stupid decisions are coming in to roost.
