Common sense, language use, social norms are forever changing. Everyone's "good old days" will be forgotten(quickly) by upcoming generations. When I was growing up I was familiar with celebrities from the '20s, nowadays that was a century ago...

Intentionally objectifying humans and then judging them by their appearances are antiquated customs that keep young people focused on fleeting and ultimately unimportant physical attributes.

I don't even like dog shows! The only kind I ever watch are the ones where the dogs show their athletic or some other performing skill. Why should a dog win a trophy because it is good looking? Let alone a human winning a trophy for that reason.

Yes, when Teresa Scanlon won Miss America in 2011, I knew we'd gone over to the other side where the more a girl looked like a boy, the more beautiful she was considered. Theresa had no waist, just a straight line from armpits to hips, muscular legs, six pack abs, and the admitted anorexia that had caused her natural layer of body fat to go away had also caused all her hair to fall out so she was wearing a big blond wig. She was only 17 and home schooled and Miss America is supposed to be the "scholarship" pageant that rewards good college grades as well as good looks, but she won anyway because the crowd went wild over how she looked in the swimsuit event.

It is now almost impossible for young women to achieve the ideal body without surgery because the extreme loss of body fat causes the breasts to disappear so they have to get implants.

I'm amazed that young women in the 21st century are willing to pay thousands of dollars and put themselves through surgery to increase the size of their breasts simply for men's pleasure. It's no different than Chinese women having their feet bound to please men -- but that was over a hundred years ago.

I think that your thoughts are maybe a little misguided. I think that women increase the size of their breasts in the hopes of improving their standard of living. True, some but not all, men are attracted to larger breasts. Women though aren't above using their breasts, small or large, in ways that attract men's attentions. A woman wearing a flannel shirt just doesn't hold the same attraction as one wearing a split front dress. Then too there is the matter of things such as push up bras, which give the appearance of larger, perkier breasts. I don't see where men derive pleasure form these subterfuges. It's women themselves that set up their bodies to lure men to them. Makeup, plastic surgery, lots of things all play into this and other than to create a picture in a mans mind that he's getting something as good as it appears on the surface is all puffery, no pun intended. I've never heard any men say that they've derived any pleasure from a woman's botox injections either. But that doesn't stop women from getting them, if they can afford them. Bee sting lips? Not a cheap investment I'd imagine but probably not something a man working in a warehouse can afford to provide for a girlfriend or spouse. Women do these things to attract a man who can upgrade their standard of life. That's been going on for centuries too.

And the footbinding was a despicable act that was performed upon young girls when they were still almost babies. They were not adult or even nearly adult women (I'm aware that some teens get breast augmentations) when such things were done and the process was irreversible. Women in a beauty contest can make a choice to compete in such things or not. Just as men who risk their health playing professional sports for lots of monetary gain, women do much the same, in my opinion. A professional athlete can afford some of the finer things that life has to offer and they also can choose from a larger pool of surgically and otherwise enhanced pool of women to date or marry, should they choose to do so. Any financially successful man will attract more than his share of women willing to do whatever it takes to entice him to share that success with them. I think that you'll find more gold-diggers than gigolos in this world.
