For over 30 years, we celebrated, went out to dress up parties, then we did the parties at home once we got our munchkins. Hubby got a large pumpkin, I found the stencil patterns we wanted for that particular year and he'd carve away.
Every year without fail, we had people asking if they could take pics of our carved pumpkins. We bought a mixture of candies, gummies and more.
I'd make up wee individual bags for all. If we were in the same place long enough, we'd see regulars coming back for our special treat bags. I made two to three pumpkin pies from carved pumpkin.
Once, we'd moved here, we got everything ready but no tricks or treaters, so we gave up. Out of respect for son and hubby, there was two years where we didn't celebrate but did a Wiccan ritual instead.
This weekend and including the 31st itself, we have our favourite foods for open buffet, Lambrini and cranberry juice, a glass pumpkin full of Haribo gummies and a stream of films and TV series to watch.
Tonight, it's the Good Witch series with Catherine Bell.
Happy All Hallows Eve...
