Enjoy your new car.Anyway car arriving Tuesday and we buy it Wednesday, finally.
We are off to Texas at the end of the month which is the main reason we wanted this car. It has ALL the safety features that Subaru makes including the distracted driver one which my husband needs badly.Enjoy your new car.![]()
Read the fine print on your credit card before you do it. Also ask if you buy on the dealers credit plan how much they come down on the price. In May I bought a Ford truck and the dealer brought the rice down when I agreed to finance through their credit company as long as I paid a minimum of six payments. I immediately paid the truck off in full instead cutting them out of their share of the amount they receive for having their customers agree to financing.Back to buying cars.....one of the local dealers is posting a commercial saying that buyers can put the down payment on their credit card. That gives me an idea if/when we decide to buy a new car....I may try to put the entire purchase on my credit card, and get a nice bit of "cash back".
Yes we haveHope you like the car, my wife has driven Subarus for years and would have nothing else. Once you get used to all the new safety features I think they are good, and do help with safety.
I bought a new Honda Ridgeline about a year ago, not long after the whole Covid thing hit. I was amazed at the lack of truck inventory at dealers then. Sounds like it is no better, maybe worse now.
You have picked the wrong time to drive to Texas, waiting for October or November would be a lot more pleasant...
I am so excited cause my daughter really really reallyAneeda, so happy for you. Enjoy the road trip![]()
I am going to put a down payment, 10,000 and finance the rest hopefully their company has a zero percent available otherwise out credit union has 1.99%Read the fine print on your credit card before you do it. I find that dishonest, but just my opinion. I could pay full price, in cash, since we just sold the house, but I like having a bit in saving, and I have not have any saving in a while. All my other debts are paid off. For your credit rating, it’s best to have something that you are paying on.Yeah, I doubt we would use our credit cards for such a large purchase...even though our credit limits are high enough to do so. We haven't bought anything on "time" in decades...we pay everything off in full when the bill arrives. We paid our current vehicles in full when we bought them, and even paid our current residence in full.
When buying a car, it is important to keep the price and financing as separate discussions. Let the salesman "think" that you will be financing the purchase....so the dealer can get a nice kickback. Get a firm price First, then write them a check....it will burst their balloon, but save you several percentage points on the final cost.

Well, since you know your score, you obviously care and use credit as do I. My brother pays cash for everything, has money, but a poor credit score cause he pays cash for everything. My nephew is a multi millionaire have no ideal what he does-cash or credit? Except he never gives me any moneyYeah, keeping the vehicle purchase price and the financing options "separate" might be dishonest...from the dealers viewpoint...but it can save the buyer hundreds of dollars. I worked at a car dealership for a few months, when I first got out of the military, and while I was looking for an honest job. That was an education that served me will ever since....I saw so many customers paying way more for a new car than the dealer really needed to charge.
Insofar as "credit score" is concerned, I give a hoot. Ours bounces around between 810 to 825, and we pay all our bills, in full, within a couple of days of receiving the bill. The last time we paid any " interest" was somewhere around 1985 when we paid of our mortgage.
When you get your new car,Them that you meet a the senior center
Perhaps consider to move the peel, first thing....we both have one foot on the banana peel
I can’t imagine why people want to live in Utah, I don’tWhen you get your new car,
would you please give me a lift to get there?
Note: I am trying to tie this in with the OP thread topic, with this post,
but maybe that doesn't matter as much, since you are the OP.![]()
"Dishonest" and "Car Dealers" go hand-in-hand. Burn them at the stake as best you can.I find that dishonest, but just my opinion. I understand, that is driving my travel more and more. Don't know how many traveling years I have left, need to do it when you can!since we both have one foot on the banana peel got to go while we can
I so agree! With our age, our medical issues, and the stupid virus, living life to the fullest is an imperative. Staying in your home may allow you live longer by avoiding the virus, but what kind of life is that? That’s why I got the vaccine, put a mask on again, and am going to see my daughter and her family.I understand, that is driving my travel more and more. Don't know how many traveling years I have left, need to do it when you can!
Or it will seem that way... Enjoy!Staying in your home may allow you live longer
Congrats, what make is it Gaer ?The new/used car I just purchased last Friday off the internet was just delivered 20 minutes ago.
Sitting in my driveway, all shiny and clean.
The bank said I could put it on my Debit card but the dealership wanted a wire transfer.
Bought it over the phone, "pig in a poke" but now I have a good, dependable vehicle with good mileage and much newer.
Tickled pink!
