You,ve hit the nail on the head as we over here say. Brian Cox, an expert in this field said For someone from outer space to visit us, go home, then come back in a years time is like picking up a pebble on the beach, putting it back again then coming back in a years time and pick up the same pebble. Many thanks to all those who posted with their views. Very interesting.

Classic example of trying to describe the universe within the limits of human intelligence. Perhaps, just like we have developed "heat seeking missiles" more advanced civilizations have developed "life seeking" technologies than scan for various life forms. And what seems like eons to us might be an idle afternoon to some greater force. Just because we can't see the patterns doesn't mean they don't exist. I would liken us to the goldfish swimming in a tank, trying to imagine what lies outside the tank.

Here is one of my life's little mysteries that still haunts me to this day.

Back when Comet Holmes was in the news, there was excitement when it unexpectedly flared near the arm of constellation Perseus [ but actually the comet was in the area of the asteroid belt.]

" Comet 17P/Holmes stunned comet watchers across planet Earth earlier this week. On October 24, it increased in brightness over half a million times in a matter of hours. The outburst transformed it from an obscure and faint comet quietly orbiting the Sun with a period of about 7 years to a naked-eye comet rivaling the brighter stars in the constellation Perseus. "

I emailed my NASA scientist brother [deep space scientist and comet expert] asking why the comet suddenly flared and he emailed me back saying he knows nothing about it [feigning ignorance not an unusual response from him]

Then a few weeks later out of the blue, I received another email from my brother with my original email title [Re: Comet Holmes.] This time he emailed me and cc several other NASA people. All he said was to pay attention to the second half of the article at link he gave [article date was the day before his email.] The article at his link said NOTHING about Comet Holmes. It was as a SETI article called "Aliens Apart" which basically said if there were aliens somewhere in the universe, the vast expanse of space would keep us apart. But why did my brother say to pay attention to the second half of the article? In the second half of the article there was a "joking" ? reference to aliens playing havoc in Perseus' arm [where Comet Holmes had mysteriously flared] !!

" Despite being warned that Cardassian look-alikes were wreaking havoc and destruction in the galaxy's Perseus Arm, you couldn't react quickly enough to affect the outcome. "

Was this meant to be a cryptic answer to my original Comet Holmes question? I'll never know because he will never explain further.

Your brother is very interesting. Do you think he's messin' with ya? :playful:.

One of my best friends is married to a scientist/university professor and now and then when we meet up, I'll make the mistake of asking what he's working on now, as if I possessed more than an average intelligence.

After he clears his throat, he begins.... after 30 seconds I'll say, "I have no idea what you just said" and we laugh. I love the guy but unless he's had enough to drink he's hard to converse with.

Anyway, referring to your brother's comment : "....Cardassian look-alikes " sounds ominously like Karsdashian" to me and is enough to send me running for cover.

At best, I recall SETI and co founder Dr. Carl Sagan back when "Cosmos" was popular on TV.

That was a quote from the SETI article... not my brother... my brother gives VERY short
and to the point answers... usually his answer is, "I know nothing."

Straight answers are hard to come by when there are government secret clearances involved.

My brother is the typical serious science type. He was one of the original Apollo era scientists
who created labs in the Houston Lunar Receiving building so they could study the lunar samples
[moon rocks.] He worked at NASA in Houston [ARES] for 43 years years until he recently retired.
He still participates in the Houston global climate study group [which used to be all NASA.]

I did ask my brother about UFOs. He said a better question would be what happened to Houston's
Apollo era quarantine equipment. He said it was sent to a government biological lab in the South.

Very awesome brother you've got. Whoever or whatever saying anything like "Kardashian" strikes terror in my soul :playful: was my point and attempt at humor.

Of course, bro shouldn't be saying too much.

I do remember Dr Sagan and SETI sometime during the "Cosmos" TV series.

Enjoy the day.

I would never rule out the possibility that UFO's or alien life forms exist and may have paid us a visit.

I'm always wondering about things like the formation of the Nazca lines in Peru or images similar to this one from an ancient painting that hangs above the altar at the Visoki Decani Monastery in Kosovo, Yugoslavia.

I guess I would say it's best to keep an open mind but be a little skeptical of the evidence provided by man.

As you posted, that image is from Visoki Decani Monastery in Kosovo.

Ironically the last war of the 20th century was fought over Kosovo.

The ancient Aryan Persians worshiped one invisible god, they called "Wise Lord." While he had no image, there was a symbol associated with him that looks like a stylized version of a man piloting a flying machine. I can envision it as the "wheel within a wheel" that Ezekiel spoke about that removed the Ark from the temple in Jerusalem before Babylon conquered Jerusalem and the temple was destroyed. Ironically, those same Aryan Persians later conquered Babylon and decreed Jerusalem's temple be rebuilt [Ezra chapters 1 and 6.]

Science and religion have already come together and been explained. Depak Chopra and Wayne Dyer are leaders in this field but there are plenty of others proving this also.
Thank you Keesha, I have heard of both but not read them. I will certainly check out their writings.
