highly doubt that while someone is being shelled from all angles they're actually thinking "Well at least the buildings in the US are lit up"

Besides being crazy, I heard a rumour a few days ago that is suffering
from "Terminal Cancer", or some other inoperable problem and he is
hell bent on winning, by any means, if he starts using Nuclear Weapons,
he will destroy all of Europe and most of the World with Radiation.

He doesn't care and unless a Russian gets rid of him, by arresting him
for war crimes, we will all be in for a lot of trouble, if anybody else tries
to get him, he will then become a Martyr.

You can make light of it with sarcasm, but knowing others are on your side means a lot. It's hard to continue fighting in a war physically, but if you're mental state deteriorates and you get depressed emotionally, you won't be able to continue. I've never fought in a war, this is just my opinion. It's okay if you don't think moral support means anything.
