United States and Israel attack Iran Early Saturday Morning

We haven't had a world war since 1945. I believe we are long overdue. Humans like to kill each other in the millions. We have simply gone too many years without massive war killings! If Russia and China join Iran, then the US and Europe will also be in the thick of a war without an end.

Actually, EVERY human dies anyway. What difference does it make if we die in a nuclear cloud or from cancer?

How about because younger generations deserve the right to live.. and youngest the right to grow up?!!! 😡🤬

This was so obviously an outcome. I wonder how many millions, billions actually, the American tax payer has paid for the removal of a (no doubt terrible) leader? Everything in the world seems predicated on how much it will cost in money terms - except war. Some ask, why should countries spend money combating Russia in the Ukraine? Yet here we are in Iran. I just wish they were honest.

Right now in this country, I would tell people to leave the cities, leave their possessions, and find a place to be that is not on a strike map. Get away from DC for sure. While in the past Iran has declined manufacture of nuclear weapons, and as of now we believe they don't have any, military strikes will occur. They have enough high grade urainiumn to build a nuke with in two weeks.

Generally, one state assassinating the leader of another state is generally frowned upon -- especially since Iran wasn't an imminent threat. It's actually illegal under the UN Charter.

It actually is a newly undeclared war on Iran and that is illegal. Trump had no right to team up and stike. Here is how the chain of declaring war works in America:
  • Constitutional Authority: Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the exclusive power to declare war.
  • Congressional Action: A declaration of war is passed as a bill or joint resolution, requiring a majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
  • Presidential Approval: The President must sign the declaration for it to take effect.

The war powers act of 1973 says notification on Congess within 48 hours and removal of forces from the conflict area within 60~90 days. The sad fact is... it has been used by nearly all Presidents from Ford to current. Examples would be Libya in 2011, and ISIS in 2014.

I have mixed feelings about all of this.

We’ve been meddling in other countries business, including Iran’s, for as far back as I can remember and I’m not sure that the world is any better off because of it.

In the case of Iran, I absolutely believe that the Ayatollah’s government and ideology posed a threat to our way of life but I would still prefer to focus our efforts on protecting our homeland and leave Iran or any other country to sort out their own issues.

If the Iranian people or the people of any other nation feel the need for some sort of fundamental change in government it should be left up to them to sort it out.

All so extremely complicated and definitely way above your poor old Aunt Bea’s pay grade.

I don't really have mixed feelings about this, as much as no feelings. I have hope for the future, and hope is often a good thing to build a future on. Although facts are much better.

I'll wait and see how this turns out in a year or two. Iran may be a threat to the US if it ever gets back into the nuclear business, but it's not now. Israel may be better off with a new ruler in Iran. I hope that's the case with the Ayatollah gone. Will the world be better off now? I think maybe it will be. But I don't think it will be dramatically better. There are still more powerful players bent on world control, and we are not in a position to take them out.

Meddling with other countries business???? What do you call terrorism????? Iran was enemy number one on the war on terrorism. This will turn out for the better.

I just saw this short video on Youtube. It explains the changes the Mullahs made to Iran when they invaded back in 1979, after the Shah had been deposed. It also explains why the Iranians are celebrating in the streets of Tehran since finding out that Khomenei has been killed.

Just imagine how you'd feel if the Mullahs had done to the US what they did to Iran!

Just looking into history on how this may affect us. I'm thinking 1973 oil embargo and 1979 Iranian revolution. Oil prices skyrocketed and global inflation went out of control. When everything levels out, the new higher prices are the norm.
Of course there are always other factors involved and finger pointing done. The result is always the same, cost of living goes up.

I haven't read about that, care to point me to the source of this information?
Iranian officials have condemned the attack, labeling it a "barbaric act" and a war crime, just in case you're wondering what Iran is saying. ;) It has been reported in The Guardian, USA Today, and the New York Times so far. It is collateral damage, of course. An all girl's school has no strategic value, so I don't think it was intentional. But still a tragedy.
