Qatar warns that oil could double to $150 a barrel and 'bring down the economies of the world

Qatar's energy minister has warned the price of a barrel of oil could double to more than $150, dragging down global economies.

Saad al-Kaabi says the Middle East conflict could result in a new energy crisis and 'bring down the economies of the world.'

Currently, oil is trading at around $85 a barrel. That comes after spending most of the year around the $60-$65 a barrel mark.

Mr Kaabi told the Financial Times that such a rise will 'bring down the economies of the world.'

'If this war continues for a few weeks, GDP growth around the world will be impacted. Everybody's energy price is going to go higher.

'There will be shortages of some products and there will be a chain reaction of factories that cannot supply.'

He warns Gulf energy exporters could shut down production, and that in turn would drive the price of oil up.

He told the FT tat even if the war does end soon, it is likely to take weeks or months for production cycles to return to normal.

That comes after an Iran drone strike hit its largest liquefied natural gas plant earlier in the week.

Oil is on track for its biggest weekly gain since 2022, as conflict in the Middle East disrupts markets and adds to fears of a fresh bout of inflation.

Brent crude trimmed earlier losses to sit above $85 a barrel this morning, but prices have soared nearly 20 per cent this week.

I remember long ago during my bible studies reading about constant wars between faring factions - Gods peoples fighting the rest and then themselves - seems like we are back in those biblical times again?

Over 400 responses in this thread, and no one has made mention of the negotiated plan signed in 2016, whereby Iran agreed to constrain its nuclear program by limiting fuel cycle activities that could lead to the production of weapons-grade uranium or plutonium.
In 2018, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal. Iran then accelerated its uranium enrichment, limited inspector access to its nuclear facilities and is now closer to developing a nuclear weapon than before the deal. So, in withdrawing from the agreement, the U.S. paved the way to then take the guns & bombs approach, rather than the peaceful, negotiated path.
We will all pay for this foolishness.

This Plan?

Jeremiah 29:11 states, "For I know the plans I have for you," indicating that God's intentions are good and aimed at prospering individuals rather than harming them.

I favor universal military service. With no exceptions. Unlike the draft which rich kids always find a way to get out of.
💯 Military service not only teaches a person how to clean and make up their own bed, it teaches responsibility and self reliance, and when faced with the prospect of fighting, instills a proper view and value of Human life.

I have read through all of this and all I can say is where are you (pl) getting this information? How do you know it's true? Even videos and pictures can be AI generated. The media is bought. The government is bought. Much of the population is bought. That's all I have to say about that.
If you don't believe it you can watch influencers.

Yes Jeremiah 49 speaks about Iran in the last days, Elam.

Behold, I will break the [l]bow of Elam,
The foremost of their might.

I will set My throne in Elam,
And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the Lord.

39 ‘But it shall come to pass in the latter days:
I will bring back the captives of Elam,’ says the Lord.”

I happened to see that on instagram.

I also saw that 50.000 mosques closed in Iran as Jesus appears in dreams.

It's like the time of grace and time of the gentiles is coming to an end and He focuses on Israel again and the countries that curse Israel get punished for it, like in the O.T.

we've started paying already!!
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement.

We pay for a single fighter with a half-million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. . . . This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."

Amen.

In the meantime the Russians are selling more oil and providing help to Iran including targeting information.
Russian oil delivery to Iran through the Strait of Hormuz is currently facing significant disruption due to increased military tensions in the region. Iran's IRGC controls the strait, but US military is there to ensure safe passage for ships heading west that the IRGC promised to stop, so it's probably one big mess.

Apparently India is going to be able to buy Russian oil with the US waiving restriction from prior deals. Would that be delivery by land and/or pipelines? Or they still need sea ferrying tankers.

A boost for Moscow in the shadow of Iran war: US allows India to buy Russian oil for a month

Crude oil prices continue to rise apace. It's above $90 right now. Less than a month ago it was $62.33/barrel.

For my entire adult life one thing has held true: when oil futures surge, everything but the stock market follows suit.
Swiftly.
Most of the crude coming from the Gulf was trading at a discount to brent and wti... prior to last week. There is quite a premium at this moment.

Good point. I should have said "west and allied countries."

Yeah, it has to move via sea vessels, and I can't imagine using anything but tankers; we're talking 80,000 to 550,000 deadweight tons.

It would be really neat if the name Yeshua was in the Old Testament.
As it is now the name Yahweh is not in the Old Testament.
It is ironic that the name of God the Father and God the Son are not in our Bibles.
