Actually 294 American casualties in Operation Desert Storm.
  • Operation Desert Storm began on January 17, 1991.
  • The primary combat phase lasted 42 days.
  • It officially ended on February 28, 1991.

Media coverage of wars are very inconsistent....
For example....On the question were did most of American casualties occur during Iraq War?
Most of the American casualties during the Iraq War occurred in Baghdad, where approximately 28 soldiers were killed in hostile acts alone.
This is wrong....
On the question...How many American casualties occurred in Iraq War?
200,000 service men and women were killed during Iraq War.
This is wrong....
The media plays a game of exaggeration....one direction or another.

Keep in mind that you cannot have more causalities than the number physically present during the war. LOL I was in the Navy during the Iraq war. Most of the conflicts that America gets involved with are air campaigns. In Iraq we had troop and tanks from several countries. We used a lot of National Guard units. Several countries had troops in Iraq but I think the total of all countries was around 100,000 troops.....not millions.

Of course there is a difference between the Iraq-Kuwait war and Operation Desert Storm. The total Iraq conflict was about 8 years but I still disagree with the media estimates, and there is more than one. The Department of Defense reports 4,432 American military casualties for the whole Iraq-Kwait conflict. So Trade's estimate was more correct.

I very rarely use it for similar reasons. Haven't had anyone on ignore for a very long time, well over a year, maybe two.

Interestingly enough, those I've ignored were all eventually banned or left SF on their own.

Same here. I posted a thread about Pride last year and received a couple of horrible responses. At least one is gone. More importantly, I got PMs from other members expressing support. It also brought out the "best" in people.

Iran continued to mount its own attacks on Saturday, launching drones and missiles at Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Dubai - where one man was killed by falling shrapnel from an 'aerial interception' and two skyscrapers were damaged.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it had struck 'several fuel storage complexes' in Tehran as part of a 'significant strike' against the regime.

One resident in Tehran said it looked as if 'night had turned into day' as the sky was lit up by explosive orange flames from intense overnight infernos.

Saturday's attack on the Iranian regime's infrastructure came as US President Donald Trump raised the possibility of the war against Iran ending when there was no longer a functioning military or any remaining leadership in power.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said: 'At some point, I don't think there will be anybody left maybe to say "We surrender".'

The people I have on ignore on this forum can't hurt me.. they're just very annoying, and certainly not people I would mix with in real life so I don't want to read their views on anything and certainly not have them try and contact me through a PM..*ugh*

I understand what you're saying, but I have to tell you that I actually liked many of the views posted by the one member who contacted me by PM, until her PM revealed that the posts I liked did not represent the "true" person.

yes sometimes you can be fooled bt some people... I've had that.... but as soon as they reveal their true self..they are blocked forever !
 
Conversely over in Iran's capital Tehran....

Thick plumes of dark smoke are lingering in Tehran following overnight US-Israeli strikes on the Iranian capital.

Iran's Red Crescent society has warned that Tehran may soon be inundated by toxic rain that can cause chemical burns and damage lungs following strikes on oil facilities.

In a dire notification early this morning, the humanitarian group warned residents of Tehran that they risked chronic lung and skin diseases.

The NGO warned residents in the Iranian capital not to leave their homes even after rain ceases as 'evaporation of acid droplets from the hot ground or surfaces increases the concentration of toxins in the breathing air by several times.'
