Up to 18 people shot at Walmart El Paso Texas

C'est Moi, can you explain your statement for this confused Aussie?

Is it just a matter of semantics?
Would the words 'firearms legislation' make a difference?
No, that won't work on Americans.
We are conditioned to see right through phony worded legislation.
We already see through the semantics of 'gun control'. Its gun confiscation, much like what happened to you folks.
We are not a docile crowd when it comes to freedoms.

Stricter gun control laws (taking away guns from Americans) would have an effect in two major ways; 1) It would turn normal Americans into criminals overnight, because people will not give up their guns. And they will be threatened with jail time. Putting taxpayers in jail would bankrupt the country. 2) More people would die because good guys with guns would be disarmed allowing killing fields to open up across the country.
Remember why we have a 2nd amendment, not for hunting.
3. If only the government and law officers were allowed to have guns, we would live in a police state.

It's not a "political thing." It's a "Constitutional" thing. If we allow Congress to change the Amendments in our Constitution because they believe that by doing so, it would make things better for the citizens, then we have given up our rights. The only time Amendments should be amended is when it is good for the entirety of the country.
