Usernames

I suppose like most folk I am a member of several forums, mostly age related over fifty sort of thing....... but I use the same username on every one of them, partly because I'd probably forget who I was on the different sites....... am I unusual?.

I use different ones, on different 'types' of forums. Some special interest forums, political etc., are a bit full on for my usually more sedate persona so I'm 'someone else' there. I usually only visit for a look at the way people are thinking on an issue and rarely post anyway so it doesn't matter much.
I think most people use several usernames over multiple forums. There aren't always devious reasons for it. I changed the last one because it was a name, not actually mine, but I chose a less personalized handle for here, a more diverse and perhaps less 'personal' forum.
We don't always know what we're getting into when we first join a forum so 'under the radar' is sometimes prudent.

Good point Diwundrin, never thought of that?............in fact it has been embarrassing sometimes to try and join a forum and find out I'm already a member?

I just belong to a few forums, and use a different user name on each, sometimes to relate it to the subject of the forum. On this one, I chose to use SeaBreeze, which is the name that my father gave his small boat that he used to take us fishing in when I was a very young child...sentimental memories for me, especially now that I'm a senior myself and no longer have him around. :sentimental:

I also use different usernames everywhere I go. No special reason, just whatever comes to me at the time.
And this particular summer I find myself alone with my very comforting yellow lab, Boo. So when I joined here, I brought him along. :)

I change my identity hourly...

Or in a suit and a tie
I changed my hairstyle, so many times now,
I don't know what I look like!"

I pretty much use the same name on any different forums or websites that I belong to. It just gets too confusing for me otherwise. I would have to have a notebook to remember how to log in to each forum, so using the same name works well for me. I am pretty much the same on all the forums , anyway.
I like it when other people do that, and then I recognize them if they are on another forum that I am also on.
What I do like doing, is changing my avatar every now and then, to go with my mood, I guess.

I've used different names on different sites. I have had to stop and asked myself, 'now who am I? Before signing in.

When I was born, (many many years ago), my parents named me Steve..

I belong to several forums and I always use my real name that I was given which is Steve..

Whenever I go anywhere, folks that know me call me Steve..

The big laugh is on some forums, they don't believe me that I use my real name.. They think that Steve is a make-up name or a user name..
Well, I got news for them.. Steve is my real name and I will use it on whatever forum I belong to..

I decided a brand new forum needed a brand new username, so I chose Daisy. Daisies are one of my favorite flowers because they are so cheerful!

I use Reen on all forums.Real name Maureen.
When I first started on forums many years ago there was another Maureen and she got very upset to think someone else would use HER name.

Hi Reen. I'm another Maureen but I like having an alternate identity as Warrigal. For the non Aussie members, warrigal is an aboriginal word that means dingo, hence the avatar.

PS Happy Birthday for tomorrow.
