Pros: Fossil fuels corporations can keep polluting, and tax payers pick up the costs.NYT: The Biden administration will spend $1.2 billion to help build the nation’s first two commercial-scale plants to vacuum carbon dioxide pollution from the atmosphere, a nascent technology that some scientists say could be a breakthrough in the fight against global warming, but that others fear is an extravagant boondoggle.
Cons: It may not work.
It's a great idea, one which I've wondered about before I ever heard of this. Who's backing it? Fossil fuel and the government. Which do you trust less? But after the banter is done, I have one question that I wonder about. If this thing actually works, where do you put all the carbon dioxide that you take out of the atmosphere? Carbonated soft drinks? Beer?
