Very cool way to separate egg yolk

You find the coolest stuff Kooka. Thank you, and have forwarded that to other clumsily challenged friends who always stuff up the last one into the bowl!

Now about marketing those bottles..... You can bet someone will tart them up as a 'gadget' and flog them on Danoz or similar.

Well I had not thought of that, better start production:eek:nthego:

I've always just used my hand. Crack the egg, drop in hand, slightly spread finger so white slides thru, wind up with yolk in your palm.

Remember the old Tupperware parties? They used to give little trinket gifts away and I got one of their egg separators. It's a small cup shaped thing, just big enough for an egg yolk to fit in with slots on the sides for the white to run off. That thing is about 40 years old now and is part of my must have kitchen ware. If it ever crumbles on me, it's nice to know there's a good backup..Honestly, the bottle looks easier though.

Jilly, do they still sell TW, do you know? I still have one of those big round cake covers and the deviled egg carrier with the removable trays, and one other container. That stuff is like iron. If they still make it, I wonder what the quality is like today!

ETA..Where did you get that adorable schnauzer gif..must have one!

Oh jeez the mister would love that, but that's too complicated, I mean I'd have to go find a bottle! and then if you planned on using the bottle over and over, you'd have to wash the bottle or it would get all icky with dried egg.

I just crack the egg, one handed, then I use the other hand to hold the other half of the egg shell and then just slip the yolk into one half of the shell, holding it over a bowl, transferring the yolk from one shell to the other. Like this guy does at the beginning. I don't like the second method he does, then you have too much egg handling for me!

Yep they sure do the quality is the same, a lot of the favourites have gone and replaced with fancier Microwave container etc, it's quite pricey now. I don't get to use mine very much now as no-one to cook for.

You are most welcome to copy & paste the doggie OG

This is how I've always done it too.

I guess it just takes practice, but I just crack the egg and move the white back and forth between the two shells. And the white just falls into the bowl and the yellow stays in the shells.
