Warning for those who sell on Facebook Market Place

I check responder profiles. If they have no info (blank profile) or it indicates they just joined - I ignore.

I also put a codicil in my ad:

"Anyone responding with just, "Is this item still available?" without further comment will be ignored as spam.
All no-shows and ghosters will be reported."

I don't think those scare them too much, but it's cut way down on responders. I hardly get them anymore.

I feel like buying and selling electronics is where you’re most likely to run into scams, after all, people can find so many ways to take advantage of you.

I’ve seen a ton of these scams on YouTube and TikTok. From everything I’ve read, doing a face to face cash deal is the safest way, though you still have to watch out for fake bills.
yes we're all aware of FB scams.. and thefts but this KILLINGs are new.....

I think if we’re going to do face to face deals, it’s best to do what @bobcat suggested and really get to know the buyer or seller first. That’s the safest approach. We can’t leave our personal safety up to luck. The more careful we are, the less risk we’re taking.
