Warning Issued For Treadmill. How about one for absent parents

A warning has been issued for Peleton treadmills because apparently children have gotten sucked/dragged towards and/or underneath. Video

But the video used also shows the lack of parent present and children playing with heavy machinery.

How about a warning to parents. Be present and/or don't let kids play with heavy machinery.

Stupid parent tricks. And theoretically most treadmills/belts could pull or snag a child if moving. And that bike off to the side. Stationary bikes are heavier and the wheels have more momentum once in motion which means the pedals could spin for a seconds after someone's done on the bike

How can one child proof adult equipment. This is not playground stuff
They could probably password protect it pretty easily or have a key lock. That doesn't seem unreasonable for what that thing costs.

Actually, it has a safety key that you can attach to your body so if you fall, it pulls the key out turns off. All the parents need to do is hide the key.

Actually residental treadmills are supposed to have key to activate the console and turn it on. Usually it's a simple plastic insert with a lanyard one is supposed to attach to their waste. The parent must have left their key in if it had one.

The CEO of Peleton isn’t backing down. No way is he going to give an opening for lawsuits. If there’s an override that parents aren’t using to keep their children safe, they should be using it.

Totally absurd that parents aren't capable of being PARENTS ! THEY should be embarrassed to blame the treadmill for their stupidity, charge them with child abuse. Anything can be hazardous to small children without supervision, duh.

Seems to me that the manufacturer could solve this problem by adding a "skirt" around the treadmill so that children, toys, and pets can't get under it.

How about suing the parents for child neglect?
Have anyone ever said "where are the kids"? If you are going to have kids be responsible for them. Then take them to McDonalds for their health meals of chicken nuggets and fries. No one sue anyone. Instead remove your empty heads form your asses you will find you can observe what your kids are doing more easily that way.

Alot of treadmills don't have one because if one slows down and/or one goes backwards they'll trip on it. They could put some kind plastic piece underneath but a moving treadmill belt could still cause friction burns depending on speed.

The kids should be intructed on the use of the safety key(pull it out) and/or the adult that uses it should never leave it in which most people do at home.

Did you view the video? I doubt infants can red instructions.

How'bout Just unplug the machine when not in use ? Or ... better yet, unplug it & close & lock the door of the room that it is in.

Then next year ......... the week after N/years :) when the parents get back to it .......... Plug it in & get back to it for ?? a month.

Can someone please explain something to me? I watched this video a couple of times now. How heavy is this treadmill? Look at how this thing is bouncing around especially when the kid is away from it. Also, to me it looks like after his first attempt to push himself under the treadmill is free ( about 28 seconds) and then is able to push himself all the way under it. It's just how it looks to me.
