Watching some TV shows and movies drive me crazy.

This is silly but I get so involved watching Modern Family and how the characters portray themselves I comment on their behavior.. The show stirs my emotions.

I was obsessed with Criminal Minds and was upset when it ended. Now I binge-watch all the episodes on youtube. One of the characters is very intelligent and because he is soo smart he reminds me of my grandson. He doesn't look like my grandson but every time he is on screen I want to kiss him.

Try though I may, I just cannot get into modern day TV shows. Perhaps the commercial previews they show kinda turn me off and those shows just don't interest me.

Thankfully, we have You Tube and I get a chance to watch old TV shows many of which had fascinating characters of the type you just don't see anymore.

Example ~ Gerald Lloyd "Kookie" Kookson III:

When I was a kid growing up in Brooklyn, NY all the boys wanted to be just like him so they combed their hair back, wore the type of jackets he wore, and even used some of the words he'd say on TV. Girls were absolutely enthralled by Kookie and would send him love letters every week - some even said back then that he got more love letters than did Elvis!

Nope, modern Tv ain't for me. But we sure had lots of great stuff in the old days and it's great to watch them and to reminisce.

Daughter and i watched entire series, loved it. And i think know which character reminds you of grandson. He was a favorite of ours too. But in general my daughter and i tend to like ensemble shows where the crimefighting 'team' becomes surrogate family to each other, and that was what made us fall in love Criminal Minds.

That series premiere was one of the all time best EVER. Often they are so busy trying to tell the audience who the characters are that forget to tell a good story along with all that exposition---but Modern Family showed us who the people were, and while i began to suspect their relatedness to each other it was very satisfying when they all got together to welcome Lily into the family at the end. While sometimes over the top, and sometimes not as crazy as real people can be---i've known people similar to some of those characters.

You must be talking about Spencer. My granddaughter was crushing on him and had him as her screensaver for quite some time. He is adorable. My son and honorary daughter turned me on to Criminal Minds way back when. I got hooked but after a time, some of the episodes were so frightening (because they can definitely really happen), I stopped watching. I got back into it about a year ago and was watching current episodes via my Android box. The app that allowed that stopped working so I started watching former seasons on Netflix. I was upset with Netflix because it didn't get the newest season after the series finale. Then my granddaughter told me Criminal Minds is on Hulu. Yaaaay! So I'm slowly watching the latest season but periodically go back and watch where I left of of a past season. Great show. Sorry Hotch is gone but I'm glad Emily is back and I really like the new team. It's hard to pick 2 favorites but if I had to, it would be Rossi and Tara.

@Mr. Ed You are not the only one who gets all involved with T.V. shows and characters. We act like these people are real and their stories are real ! 😄

Love Criminal Minds and I watch it all the time. Loved the Gideon guy the most. They were the best ones for me. Spencer and Emily are my favs too!
Terry, I didn't like Gideon at all so didn't bother to go back and watch the episodes he was in, especially after I read that he hated the role and thought it was his worst ever.

He said the reason he did not like the role was because the scripts were the same each week. It was always rapes and murders and I found it to be the same. It was always rape, the body was cut or mutilated and then killed. But I still enjoyed his roles the most. I am really enjoying the u-tube videos of he and his wife on different subjects. They have been married so many years and i love her views on life!

Yes, I certainly understood why he would feel that way. He's done an awful lot of theater too. I'm sure Criminal Minds was darker than anything he ever did on stage. I hadn't heard about his YT channel. Interesting.

What kind of emotions, Ed? Anger? Compassion? Joy?....
Thanks for asking. Modern Family revolves around three different types of families. (nuclear, blended and same-sex) living in the Los Angeles. What gets me going are the humanistic faults, ideas and quirkiness associated with stereotypical behaviors.
Currently my emotions are riding the currents to a place or places unknown. I never know about emotions, they are so finicky😬

They are finicky, indeed. I like being surprised (in real life) to find I can still experience emotions I thought I'd grown too cynical or too complaisant to feel, and, even more surprising, emotions I experienced for the first time in all my 66 years.
