We All Use Artificial Intelligence

AI is just another computer, but instead of the usual
operating systems, it programmed a little bit more
that Windows or Apple, it searches the internet for
certain words and phrases, this is how I see it and I
don't understand all the panic surrounding the fact
that it can do things faster and more thoroughly than
we can with home computers.

When they start to develop the Bio computer, using
other materials that are not copper and plastic, then
things will get interesting, imagine using a human
brain as a CPU.

Just my crazy thoughts.

When you google “Artificial Intelligence” guess what you get?

Yup that’s right, the very first result is FROM Artificial Intelligence!! 🤣

“Artificial intelligence (AI) is a broad field of computer science that focuses on creating machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence, like learning, reasoning, and problem-solving.

The search is interesting though. Here’s the rest of it:

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • What AI is:
AI aims to simulate human intelligence in machines, enabling them to learn from data, understand language, recognize patterns, and make decisions.

    • How it works:
AI systems use algorithms, data, and computational power to learn and improve their performance over time, rather than relying on explicit instructions from programmers.
    • Examples of AI:
AI is used in various applications, including self-driving cars, virtual personal assistants (like Siri and Alexa), image recognition, and natural language processing.
    • AI's impact:
AI is transforming how businesses operate, helping automate tasks, improve decision-making, and enhance customer experiences.
    • AI and machine learning:
Machine learning is a subset of AI that focuses on enabling computers to learn from data without being explicitly programmed.
    • AI and deep learning:
Deep learning is a further specialization within machine learning that uses artificial neural networks to analyze data and make predictions.

The term AI has always meant something completely different in street slang and in gangster rap music. Check out the Urban Dictionary.

Hearing AI will immediately make basketball fans think Allen Iverson, the Georgetown and 76er great.

This is why AI is so expensive to use. It takes enormous computer power to do all this mining, and keep everything cool and functional. The super computers that are using quantum processors are right on the horizon.

What is Data Mining

Data mining is the process of extracting and finding patterns in large datasets using methods from machine learning, statistics, and database systems. It aims to uncover hidden connections and predict future trends within the data. This process involves cleaning raw data, finding patterns, creating models, and testing those models to extract useful information. Data mining can help companies increase revenues, cut costs, improve customer relationships, reduce risks, and more by revealing insights about customer preferences and market trends.
Data mining techniques include clustering, classification, regression, association rule mining, anomaly detection, text mining, and time series analysis. These methods vary in how they process and analyze data to uncover specific insights about industry trends and consumer preferences. For example, clustering groups similar data points together to see trends and patterns, while classification assigns labels or categories to data points based on their characteristics.124+1
Before data mining can be performed, a target dataset must be assembled and pre-processed to ensure it is suitable for analysis. This process often involves cleaning the data to remove inconsistencies and errors.5

Stupider than a human, @MACKTEXAS. That's downright dangerous. Thank goodness the subject was an actress and not something serious. Dina owned mar a lago, right?

Well, the family owned it. I admired her class and dignity, even though I didn't see her as an outstanding actress. BTW, I asked for her last public photo and got this from AI :ROFLMAO: Note the last sentence "her last public appearance was likely sometime before 2017" [Yes, indeed I should hope so.]

AI is still pretty "raggedy" if you ask me.

My email now tries to use it to create a summary of each email for me. Sometimes messages like order confirmations and such from online shopping get sent out with embedded ads in them for "other crap you might want." The AI scrapes the email and the text of ad images, so I get email subjects like "Your order for dog sex toys, baby diapers, and a breadfruit washing machine is on the way!"

I guess the danger from them would come if they are programmed to be able to cross the line into doing some harm, and can't be stopped. Like in the movie "2001." ("I'm sorry, Dave. I cannot do that.")

That's doesn't necessarily mean they are deliberately programmed that way. But if they are able to do some creative "thinking" that their human inventors didn't foresee, they could band together and end the human race. Theoretically, anyway. We will probably all be long gone before that happens.

We've got enough evil coming from human beings. I don't waste time worrying about what a bunch of computers might do. 😬

I wish the media and conspiracists would get off of AI. AI is supposed to be this insidious boogeyman type evil master of the human race, that's been let out of the bag. It's an advance computer program.
The problems that arise in AI, have to be tied to the programmer
or coder, we have to assume that the writers of these programmes,
are the best coders in the business, unfortunately, according to my
experience of information received, I understand that hackers are
deemed to be among the best in the industry, there are of course
good writers who are not hackers, but recently when some of our
utilities and larger shops/supermarkets, were hacked and lost, lots
of business, it was all put down to children, teenagers in a bedroom
messing around with computers.

These young people, obviously like to stir things up, hence, conspiracy
theories, probably with "Tongue-in-cheek", there was a case a year or
so ago, where "Wall Street", or a company there was trying to have a
15-year-old autistic boy, extradited to face charges, for embezzlement.

AI, in the best hands, is a very good idea, especially in health diagnosis,
but you can't stop others from having a go, if they have the training.

Mike.
