We are going to war! But only sort of...

Obama made it clear yesterday that we will help others kick ISIS butt but not with ground troops. Some big guns in the military and Congress doubt that this will be successful. How do you come down on this matter?

The idea is to support local groups currently fighting against ISIS with the exception of Syria and Iran.
It might work; it might not. Worth a try as a first resort.

They had better hurry before OZ is overrun with ISIS recruits...

And what are you going to do with all of those refugees? Be careful, your poor treatment of them may make them terrorists, too...

I think Obama's approach to this is much better than charging full throttle into a ground war. At least we should give this a try. Did you hear that old fool McCain yesterday in the hearing? Never let it be said that HE has found a war he didn't love. Especially since it won't be HIM or HIS kids getting killed. We just need to thank our lucky stars that we have a cooler head in charge. If McCain had won in 2008.. can you imagine? We would be in 3 or 4 wars by now. AND Palin would be our VP..

But just supposed that McCain had croaked and Palin was our Commander in Chief--scary!

Yup, and it ain't even Halloweeny yet...

It wouldn't have been much better with Romney.. He's been beating the war drum too. I have no doubt we would be in many "conflicts" by now with him at the helm. Not to mention.. lyin' (never saw a Senior benefit I wouldn't privatize ) Ryan would be our VP..

Hmm, doubt Ryan would spend much time on foreign policy as he would be too busy trying to cut Social Security and Medicare...

This is a big mess with international repercussions that has to be dealt with in some way. But this is why for centuries countries have been sending only this or that, advisors and/or expeditionary forces all a prelude to full scale military intervention. If nothing else learn from recent history if you don't want to go back. The question What will happen when the US leaves in full? MUST be answered first. Either we stay out and wait to until it directly affects us or we sell the prospect of long term occupation with more years of abushes, ieds and suicide bombers/attackers.

Saudi Arabia has recently purchase 84 F-15s from the U.S. ,they said they will helph this war but not with their planes.

You need to look up what all these other nations that told Obama they will help with this war,but nobody seems to know just what the hell they are going to help us with.

These little wars keep us busy and you know the saying. Busy hands are happy hands. However, I think we should stay out of Syria.

That's the problem. That is where they are headquartered. That is where most of them are. We can't keep shooting missiles at them in Iraq and expect to eliminate them. Not that I have hope they can ever be eliminated. or exterminate them as the case may be
