Number 12, leaving doors wide open was my forte as a child, and I got this response a thousand times, and now I can't go through a door without closing it, (hey, it worked after all, so all the nagging was worth it everybody! ).

Maybe the difference between a "Blue Collar" worker vs a "White Collar" one? I admit though, it's one I've never heard until now.

We get caught all the time dont we, thinking what we have is not enough, so try for a bit more and lose the lot.

The saying goes back to the days when horses were routinely used for field work on farms, and if they had had a few days off work they were not so keen to have the collar fitted over their necks prior to the horse starting work again, (likewise when we return from a holiday, we sometimes get the same feelings dont we).
