He was also one of my 17 year old grandson`s football coaches-has been for years. He was on a call to a fight-a fight involving a kid my husband used to coach in baseball. He`s 21 now and gone bad. Anyway,he ran off into the woods and the officer chased him. Turned him over to the rest of the officers on scene and left,as he was only helping outnd had to get back to his jurisdiction. Started up the road and crashed into a tree. I was watching this all go down on the local scanner page that I follow. They were calling for an air ambulance-not too unusual here, most people are flown out,no trauma cnter. Then they said code blue. Oh no. They took him to hospital but he was DOA. Heart attack they believe. 50 years old. Wonderful guy. My grandson is devastated. He wrote this on his FB page.....
""When I heard the news my heart dropped. I immediately started to think about all the moments we shared. I started to think about us talking crap about whose biceps are bigger. I started to think about you telling me that you would beat my ass no matter how old you were. I started to think about you singing karaoke to that awful song at camp. I started to think about how lucky we were to have you. I know you'll be watching us from the best seat in the house. You always were doing what's best for everyone and not thinking about yourself. This season is for you. Until we meet again Little Guy. Rest In Peace Coach
