Weird phone calls on my cell.

Plenty of those. It's at the point now when I am going to change my number and they charge $25.00.

I'm going to complain. If someone is getting my private cell phone number then it's the fault of my provider because I don't give it out, so they must be selling it.

You should block those numbers so they don't call back.

Also. You can put your phone on do not disturb and the only ones that can get through are the ones on your contact list.

I don't think phone numbers are sold. They're chosen at random by computer software which is why they are called robocalls. If you sometimes pick up a call and no one is there, then another call got picked up first.

More and more phone numbers are being spoofed. The numbers displayed on your phone are not really the numbers that are actually being used to make the calls. So a local number could be just a trick to make you pick up. And they are also chosen at random. I've head of people getting phone calls from themselves.

I get a lot of calls on both my home and my cell phone, with the area code and then the first three digits exactly the same as mine. The last four digits are random.

It looks like someone in my own neighborhood is calling, and I fell for it the first couple of times, then I caught on. I never pick up now. But it happens at least once a day. They just don't stop trying!

Area codes are becoming more and more meaningless. My wife has a Seattle area code on her phone, we are in the Tampa Bay area.

I got calls like Sunny with same area code & 3 digits. I never pick them up, they never leave voice mail & I block them.

I don't get any weird calls
Maybe it's because I use Verizon (???)....not that I have a choice here in the middle of bumfook Egypt
Anyway
Thinking maybe the more economical carriers are available for a reason (just thinking out loud)

You guys with the weird calls, using a known carrier?

Got a call the other day and the guy asked to speak to Frank. Told him he had the wrong number. Well, that didn't seem to matter as he told me he was calling from Switzerland and represented a company that was in the perfume and lotion business....I said that was nice but I'm not interested in whatever he was trying to sell and was NOT interested in perfume. Didn't deter him as he asked if I had a Wife or "significant" other, whatever THAT was supposed to mean....told him I couldn't talk now anyway as I had to go and shovel the snow to get to the moose carcass that was somewhere outside my igloo.....He hung up on me. What do you think I said wrong?

Well after all, people in Switzerland in the perfume business probably don't even know what a moose is. Or an igloo.
