Were you ever a fan of roller coasters ?

When I was very little I couldn't wait to be tall enough to ride the Blue Streak at Cedar Point. I did go on a roller coaster about 10 years ago and it was so scary..almost wet myself...lol

My wife and son used to wheedle until we'd go to the amusement park.

One time we went to a place called Knoebels, a very family-oriented park in PA, and we proceeded to march around the hundreds of acres in the sweltering heat.

Well, Mom and son wanted to go on a roller coaster, I said I'd sit this one out. I found an empty bench beneath some shade and watched as they got into the cars and began their ascent up the first big hill. Wave!

The cars got stuck on the ascent.

They were there for about 20 minutes.

Long enough for me to grab a Slushee and a burger and chat up the cute waitress. :pepper:

Hey Phil...I have been there with the kids and now the Grandkids. They are still in business and it's still relatively inexpensive compared to the likes of Hershey Park. I never cared one way or the other about roller coasters. I flew at 37,000 feet for a living, so heights never bothered me. Some people get sick going down that first incline, but if you don't stuff your face full of food before getting on, you should be OK.

There is an amusement park just outside of Toledo, Ohio named, Cedar Point. They used to have a really great roller coaster. I don't know if the park is even there anymore.

I just checked it out on Google. It's still there and the roller coaster looks like a roller coaster from Hell. I don't know if I would get on that one. https://www.google.com/search?q=pic...hWP21MKHURmCuQQ9QEIRTAN#imgrc=ghoUp2Vo0GQisM:

It's just NERVOUSNESS. A long time ago there was a comic strip called "Little Annie Rooney" And she used to say that.

(Maybe it was the "Wim Wams. It was eons ago.)

My mother used to say "wim wams." She used the term to mean sort of acting weird and stressed in general. When our dog would run pointlessly through the house she would say he had the wim wams. When I would get all wound up about something like dreading a history test or something like that, she would tell me not to get the wim wams over it.

Falcon, it's the first time I've heard the term in years and years. Brought back memories -- thanks. I never knew it came from Little Annie Rooney.

I was a huge fan of thrill rides (the wilder, the better) until a couple of years ago. Then the ophthalmologist told me I'd have to choose between my love for thrills and my love for my retinas and I went for the retinas. I probably will have one last hurrah when "the world's largest roller coaster" opens here in Orlando, supposedly this year sometime.
