This is a sculpture in the Sculpture Garden at the Hirschhorn Musem in Washington, D.C. It cracks me up every time I see it.

Ah yes ! The good old typewriter eraser. I wore mine out a long time ago.

Granpa Don's picture of the radio and TV tubes reminded me of these displays that they used to have in the local drugstores.

I remember my stepfather testing tubes and buying replacements for our television.

I think the movie was Double Indemnity

True story: Heard this a few years ago. A little girls was give an old fashioned cash register with plastic groceries for a birthday gift. When they set it all out she started dragging the grocery items across the table rather then looking at the price then pushing the keys!

I still have a few of those somewhere! Talking about the green stamp books!

I do, too, Terry. My mom was into green stamps and she planned our grocery shopping around the Wednesday double stamp day at the store. Then we'd come home and stick 'em into the little books. I have a particular memory of getting the stamp books together and going to the Green Stamp Store and getting some fancy TV trays. Funny the odd things that stick in your memory.
