What are you cooking or baking today?

Frozen pizza today, because I've been glued to the PC, working, for two full days.

I do enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes, though. After so many years of cooking kid-oriented food, it's nice to explore new ones. I'm going to try my hand at pasta puttanesca next.

Husband grilled a chicken & I made potato salad between baking 8 loaves of zucchini bread. Couple for the vets office, one to eat now & the rest for the freezer. We also managed to clean enough pawpaws to get 7 bags of pulp for the freezer too. I'll make cookies or pies out of the pulp for the holidays.

Kroger's used to make a puff garlic-parmesan spread that you put on top of sliced baguette that puffed when it browned in the oven. It was easy to copy & I'm glad I did because the discontinued it. It was only mayo, parm, granulated garlic powder & salt to taste.

Looks good.

Yesterday before bed, I put a deer roast in the crock pot. The cooking liquid mixed together was beef stock, whole cranberry sauce, pinch of nutmeg & horseradish. I salt & peppered the roast & laid it in the liquid cooking it until tender. A roux thickened the grave & was used over the roast. Served it with whole grain mustard roasted potatoes & onions.

Tonight is prime rib roast with au gratin potatoes & salad. Potatoes are almost done & roast is in for the browning. House is starting to smell good.

I had cut a whole rib roast down to what we needed at Christmas & froze the small piece for later. Well, now is later 😁. Since the weather started to cool, I've felt more like cooking lately.

Hope you have some horseradish to go w/that. (y)

You and that bread made me go out and buy flour and yeast, PP! :ROFLMAO:
I'm just waiting now, to use up my bread in the freezer to make my own, no-knead bread.
Good for you RadishRose! There’s nothing quite as rewarding as making your own bread.
We use a KitchenAid to knead the bread. It comes with a dough hook. We have some great recipes for white bread and raisin / molasses bread. We do two cycles of manual kneading before baking

I looked at several Thai Pineapple Fried Rice recipes on line and made some tonight, borrowing guidance from those recipes but adjusting them according to my recollection of eating it in restaurants and personal cooking preferences and experience. Some of the bigger changes - I cut waaay back on the oil, added a bunch of veggies, subbed brown rice for white, and used tofu for the protein.

DD's family was over and all proclaimed it a big success and talked about how it could be even better next time.
