I had pancakes a day in advance.. made them fro brunch yesterday..No Maple syrup, I don't like that... :)
Now I am craving pancakes...not a fan of maple syrup either.

We have stormy icy weather in the forecast for tomorrow so I am off out to my one stop shop , i.e. Walmart
to see what they have to offer. Their in house bakery is quite good with bread and muffins so will give them a try with some strawberry jam ...

Yesterday went better than expected. I skipped a couple of things (e.g., exercise), but I exceeded expectations on other tasks.

Today is not looking good though. Tonight is the first book club meeting. Any outing freaks me out, especially if it's the first time. I have to remember to take things with me, I don't know what the parking situation will be like, etc. So for several hours leading up to the outing, my life is on hold while I psych myself up and make sure everything is ready.

At least I'll have a shower, then we'll see. I guess I should prioritize exercise, since I didn't do any yesterday (unless you count sNOw shoveling).

By now you're safe and sound at home @Purwell. I hope the after-effects of chemo aren't too awful.

Got home from work, sat down, promptly fell asleep and only woke up about 20 minutes ago. What's up with that? Maybe it was the unexpected rain and very warm temps that made me sleepy.

New lady worked this morning. As predicted, the first words out of her mouth weren't "Good morning." They were "I'm sooo tired!" followed by a recital of how much pain she's in. Even not sympathizing, commenting or showing any interest at all stopped her.

Around 10ish, Retired Lady instructed her to bake cookies, which elicited the response, "If I'd known I had to bake all these cookies, I'd have skipped doing markdowns." It's a bakery and among other things, we bake cookies every day.

Each morning the products that will be stale-dated the next day have to be off the shelves, marked down and displayed on a special "Oops! We baked too much" shelf by 9am. It's not anything that can be put off, not optional depending on whether there's a more interesting job to do, not negotiable.

A hand-held printer is needed to do markdowns; it prints a sticker with "Reduced" and the new price to affix to the package. Mind you, it was 8am. Those printers are like gold because there aren't enough of them to go around. I told her we didn't have one in the bakery and she'd have to root around in other departments to find one. I thought she set off to do so, and she came back an hour later without a printer. Me: "Did you finally find a printer?" New Lady: "What? I wasn't looking for one. Where's ours?" No idea where she was or what she was doing for an hour.

Somehow, I think it's safe to say that she's not exactly what we'd call committed to the job. She's also ticked in a major way about being scheduled to work Saturday. Heaven help us if Sir ever goes wild and crazy (and against her wishes) and schedules her to work on a Sunday:ROFLMAO:

We definitely do count that! :)
Actually, in my mind, when I read your posts, I often think that you accomplished a lot, even on the days, you don't seem to think so.;)
Many of us understand very well, the type of hesitation you described in this post. Hope you go, and find it worth wile.

@Blessed and @StarSong
Thank you both, for replying to my posts yesterday, ☺️🤩

and also for everyone else's replies or reading. :)

Yes, to Blessed, I do have multiple disabling conditions, which make eating regular foods difficult; and yes, I've had that type of Endoscopy procedure, you said your family members did.
It did help with part of my difficulty, thank goodness, but not with other parts. I sure do miss eating lots of wonderful foods, but I do have some tasty alternatives, thankfully.

Thank you, Kaila.

Yes, my days are fairly full, of laundry and other tasks. And the exercises seem to take a lot of my time and attention. I wish life were more fun and less work!

I will go to the book club. I just don't know how much I'll accomplish in the intervening hours.

I often feel like there are 2 people living inside me. One that will jump in the car and drive across the country. Another that's afraid to go down the street. I think it has to do with reward. In the former instance, I'm rejoicing because there's something new every second. In the latter, I'm thinking it will be more trouble than it's worth.

I am working on finding things that are interesting and worth it.

Boy, oh boy! I can relate!

Yesterday the Spousal Equivalent came home with a new(ish) car, a Ford Explorer, to pull the motorcycle trailer that he doesn't have to tow the motorcycle that he DOES have on motorcycle trips that he won't be taking.

Last month, he had the back yard fenced in so that he could store the non-existant motorcycle trailer back there.

Sigh. Men and their toys and their mid-life crises......

So today, he had to take the extra key fob from the old (not old) vehicle he traded in back to the dealership, so I rode along and insisted on going to IKEA. Ha! Showed him! LOL.

On my early walk this morning around 6:15, temp was 38 as i did my loops around apt complex twice
This morning ,my friend Mary &I went on our weekly 'road trip' to local grocery store, Tops, she needed to buy a couple items as did I. Then we headed to our favorite $1.25 store bought a bd card& some cookies
This afternoon it became windy but I strolled down the street to the mailbx at the corner sun was out but with the wind made it colder
Tonight after dinner I'll tackle the daily NYT crossword puzzle, watch "Night Court' at 8pm on NBC at 9pm on CBS watch 'FBI: International' really like this show been hooked since it debuted last yr

Yabbut did you buy anything at IKEA?

I did my normal "Being charitable, towards charity" today. A group of ladies comes by with chicken, rice and broccoli wrapped in wax paper.

Many here reject it. I don't and I'm at least letting them know it's appreciated. Yes, I could cook a better meal, but I feel that people who really go out of their way to help others should be thanked.

I am the only person that has never been to IKEA? Is this something I should not miss?
Ikea stores are now starting to close one by one here in the UK... barely any call now for assemble it yourself stores in such vast Buildings since online shopping became the most favourable way to shop post Pandemic.. there's talk of them opening smaller stores in town with limited stock .. but hey there's never any parking close enough in town and who wants to carry a chest of drawers 1/2 a mile to the nearest car park.. It means of course the Big Box store's long-term viability is under threat.

Incidentally my little office room here is almost entirely furnished with Ikea furniture...( not the rest of the house tho').. but here it's perfectly acceptable for this little room

I went to Ikea once, to buy a specific item. A friend who didn't have a car came along for the ride, saying Ikea was a unique experience. She really enjoyed eating in their restaurant too.

So I guess some people go there just for the heck of it. To me it was just a store, and the restaurant was just a restaurant. I have no soul.

Oh gosh, as I possibly remember, @Blessed ,
I think that yours have multiple factors in those dreadful migraines....
I hope this one goes away, faster and sooner than usual, for you!

I haven't ever been to any IKEA. I don't think we have one locally; however, they could have built one recently (most recent 20 years , that is:rolleyes:)
And I might not have seen it, or known they did. o_O:rolleyes:

The furniture looks fine in @hollydolly 's picture, though she's got a design touch that could make anything look good.
That no-handles dresser is interesting to me.
I am very curious if it would be easier or harder, for me to open them. Seems perhaps easier.

It's good to see you, @Pinky

Yes, I migraine is way more than a bad headache. You are sick at your stomach, dizzy, there is the stuffed painful ears and sinus, just to name a few.

I doubt I will ever go to Ikea, there is one I think, in Dallas but I don't drive any distance now. I have one doctor 10 miles away but I can get there without the freeway.

I know @hollydolly has good taste, not only in her home but she finds the cutest clothes.
