@Pappy Please let us hear from you as soon as you're up to it or maybe instruct your DD to post so that we'll know you're okay?
Et tu
@Pepper? Let's put it down to the full moon. I've been so far down in the past few days that I have to reach up to tie my shoes. And add to that last night was one of those "lacy" nights (full of holes). When I went out with my coffee at 4:30, there was a big, bright full moon. Yup. Trouble sleeping when there's a full moon isn't an old wives' tale; it's real!
Today is bright and sunny and really warm. It's 79 and we're promised that it will be 79 again tomorrow. Yippee. Then the cool down and the rain will be back, but for now, the weather is definitely...outdoors
DGD had a follow-up appointment with her PCP. She's on the mend at last.
No-longer-New-Lady started calling Sir at 7 am! Then turned up asking when she'll be scheduled again because she's "been calling and calling Sir but getting no answer." Um...never? Sir told her that he's had to cut hours and has no idea if or when he'll be able to add any. She remarked that Retired Lady is leaving at the end of the month, to which he replied that it won't help any because No-longer-New-Lady can't do Retired Lady's job. N-L-N-L said she was going to search out one of the assistant store managers and "have him allow more hours." Assistant store manager can't do that, not up to him.
Sir suggested checking out other stores in our area because three of the four within 10 miles are looking for help, all of them in the bakery. The hours she's allowed to work without her disability being penalized are limited. Whereupon were also treated to the fact that she got a big increase in her SSDI...to $350/month.
Then she proceeded to tell Sir that she "made" $2K over the weekend with a catering job but didn't say whether that was gross or net. He didn't ask. She has a bigger one coming up in a couple of weeks and would he be interested in working for her?
Pray tell, in what universe is it appropriate for a part-time hourly employee to approach a superior and invite them to become
their employee? He said no, of course, and asked why she'd even ask! That didn't stop her, though. When she paused for breath, he commented that if
she can't work weekends because of her catering business, why would she think
anyone else could work weekends at one job
and work for
her weekends, too?
At that point I decided it was break time. After my 15 minutes were up, she was gone.
Oh...her surgery obviously wasn't the hip replacement. She was walking just fine

and it was very apparent that it wasn't liposuction, either.
So. The rest of the flowers are planted, new 100' hose hooked up. Mess cleaned up.
