What are you doing today 2023

Just got finished with my first stint volunteering at my local public library. The lady in charge of volunteers was out sick but the girl behind the checkout desk texted her and she texted back for me to ‘Read’ the shelves…. Basically meaning for me to methodically look over the books and make sure they’d been shelved correctly…. In alphabetical order, no non-fiction stick in with fiction, etc

I got through the front and back of the first shelf of fiction (from Abbott to Fowler) and only found a few things mis-shelved. After 90 min of that, I have a kink in my neck and my eyes are crossing—haha— but I enjoyed it. And, of course, as an avid reader I found all kinds of books to pique my interest.

Another sunny but cool day. At least the wind isn't blowing today. The lawn spoke to me and begged to be mowed. The weeds laughed at me. The birds have deserted me in favor of the neighbor's feeders.

Alone at work again. One of the two who were supposed to help yesterday turned up just as I was leaving and got me pretty much caught up. The other one had a PT appointment, and while I don't know for sure, she probably just couldn't work after it was done.

I'm not authorized to place orders for anything, equipment/supplies/bakery stuff, and our order for Tuesday night's truck has to be placed by 11 on Monday morning. Not authorized so nothing was ordered. That means there will be nothing on tonight's truck for the bakery. There's a list as long as last week of things we absoeffinglutely must have in order to keep the bakery going. Oh, well. I'm not authorized. I'm the only one there and not authorized. Right. Maybe we'll get lucky, and the bakery will just hang up a sign that says "Closed". The deli does it whenever nobody's scheduled to work or when nobody shows up.

Yanno what? I'm fed up with being dependable.

Nobody is scheduled to help tomorrow. If there's a plan for Thursday, I don't know what it is, but I'm not gonna mention being off. If it's brought up, the answer is still no. I will practice saying no between now and 11am tomorrow.

Off to mow and weed and stuff. I will practice saying no while I play with the mower and dig weeds.
 
I had a rough evening and night. Stomach pains, acid reflux, finally barfed 3 times....took some bicarbonate and that helped. Painful all round but somewhat better this morning. ..... got my hospital bag all ready just in case.
Spiderman seems to have deserted me. The barfing noises probably scared him off.

Oh by the way @StarSong wold you please ship your handy man to me, I need him badly.
After he has attended to @hollydolly of course.

Gotta go..... think I need some more bicarb.

By the way anyone here eat SnackPack.

My friend gave me one in the dinner she gave me the other day and I ate it last night.
I never heard of them before and the little container had absolutely no writing on it..only the name on top.
I did enjoy . Sort of pudding with frothy white stuff on top. Anyway I looked up in google and their reviews are dubious !. ..
Some reports of bloating, diarrhea, etc etc etc and even some food poising.....
Just wondering...:unsure:

Spent the morning in the back yard, cleaning up.

I was treated to a large flock of Swans flying over. ❤️❤️❤️.
And……
A military plane flying over…..really, really low.

I hope they weren’t looking for or saw my green house filled with my canibas crop……thought it was well hid…..maybe not. 🙄🙃🥴😉.

There is a lovely smallish library near me. They are asking for volunteers (2-3 hrs/week). Like you, I'm an avid reader. Your post has inspired me. I think I'm going to contact them and become a volunteer.

This seems to explain your health problems last night.
 
On my early walk around 6:45, went to local store to buy some milk,NYT, lightly raining temp was 39
I had no plans for today, my friend Marcia called me mid morning. I had mentioned to her Sun if she needed me to dog sit'Tage' today let me know. I went over around 12:30,as usual he was so excited, when he saw me tail wagging. I was there for about 2hrs,lately I've been coming over once/ wk which certainly makes my day
 
Here at my granddaughter’s house…. We read “Song and Dance Man”. So no I showed her a clip of Fred Astaire dancing “Putting in the Ritz”

she didn’t believe he was real.. “that *has* to be CGI!” she said. 😁. Sorry to disillusion you, darling… he’s the Real Deal

So sorry @Mizmo. Nothing worse than barfing. I hope you feel better soon!
 
Went for groceries earlier. I swear every week things get more expensive. It's just crazy!
Eggs came down a little but avocados are going up again. Store made soups went up a dollar apiece.
Milk is up, as is beef. Forget about lamb!

It rained all last night I think. Then today on an off. Sky is so cloudy and it's chilly. Rain is forecast for the rest of the week.

They've begun power washing our condos yesterday.
