What are you doing today 2023

Today I plan on doing vacuuming and a small load of laundry. Putting some items from my storage locker in the dumpster to make room. I want to get that organized better which includes emptying it out a bit. Other than cooking a couple of meals for myself and cleaning my bunny's cage that's about all I am doing.

Today I start my diet and exercise routine. I have become overweight since I retired, and am now no longer on my feet most days. Sitting at home all day has made it worse, so since I am no longer walking around all day, I have to seriously address my food intake...

I do have a treadmill so that is useful for exercise.. altho' now the OA in my knee, means I'm restricted to no more than 15 minutes per day or the knee becomes unbearably painful, so I'll stick with that.. until hopefully I lose a little weight and then perhaps the knee will be less painful

morning all.....nice out at 63deg F, slight chance of rain later on...up at 3am again, stress of this online bank issue is wearing
me down....care giver lady comes today, and will take me to
bank hopefully they can get me back online....wrote two utility
bill check last eve, first time I've done that in years....amazing how spoiled we get....some body aches and breathing issues
as usual....I'm more popular than i knew, had messages waiting
from 3 ladies on next door this morning LOL.....later gang..;)

What a frenetic weekend, The Goodwood Revival was a sell out. Here's a few hats just for Holly.

Goodwood is all about classic car racing. Spectators cannot get this sort of photograph, I copied it from The Revival's website.

This year's Revival clashed with: "Last Night At The Proms," but along with a few hundred other festival goers we managed to see the last 20 minutes or so, where all the jingoistic songs are sung.

This year The Belmont Pullman were giving fifty mile round trips from nearby Chichester Station, despite it being expensive, it too was a sell out.

You have my total admiration HC being as you did another on Sunday. Watched that 7L lump on TV racing against old A40s etc. It won again, which seems to make the complete thing rather pointless. Noticed another priceless Porche sustained some nasty damage, uninsured of course as it was in my club days.

@hollydolly I know there are as many "helpful hints" about losing weight as there are dieters. Lemme tell you what my doc told me way back in the way back when I weighed in at more than 200 lbs. Count. The. Calories. And make absolutely sure that they're calories that provide actual nutritional value.

I had a little pocket-size booklet that listed the calorie count for just about anything you can think of. (I still remember that there are 78 in a hard boiled egg.) This little booklet also listed how many calories burned doing things like vacuuming and gardening.

As for exercise, do what you're able to do, like floor exercises or sitting exercises. Doesn't have to be walking running, knee bends and such.

Thanks very much Gigi, that's really appreciated. I think at this stage now in my life I need as much helpful advice as I can get.. (y)

Woohoooo 😁😄 finally the electrician arrived, and installed my new Kitchen Ceiling light.... it's been 3 weeks working in the kitchen at night with just motion sensor lights....

He was a nice guy, explained how they're just overwhelmed with work which is why it's taken so long.. but yeaaah now it's done and I once again have a fully working kitchen at night...

I slept in just a little bit, more like getting up very, very slowly!

It's going to be another beautiful day here! Sunny and around 80°-81°F/27°C. I'm not awake enough to have a plan for the day, yet. There's always house cleaning, but I'd hate to ruin my reputation. Next thing you know, people start expecting you to do that stuff all of the time!!!

I do know that I will start out with

!

I've been out in the garden. It's still there but minus some spent flowers and some weeds. Done for the day, showered, clean clothes, and it's time to shift the laundry.

Gonna try to sweet talk DD into going to Target or Marshall's to find just the right shade of beige or brown throw for my sofa. And whatever else strikes my fancy :) if I'm not too tight to spend more money💸😉

Yeah, I know I said I'd vacuum, and I will, just not right now.

Somebody mentioned craisins the other day. I bet they'd be a nice addition to...scones. @Mizmo probably needs scones. Me, too. Now that @hollydolly has light in her kitchen, she could make some...jussayin'.

It rained so much during the night that there's standing water in the flower pots!

Can you believe it... !

This morning when I got up.. I stumbled into the bathroom, and turned the tap on in the sink to brush my teeth..my eyes were almost closed, really still not awake, and I burned myself, thinking I'd turned the tap on in the wrong direction....discovered I had no cold water at all...

Then I also found I couldn't flush the toilet.. the cistern is just not filling at all.. so I had to use a 2 gallon bucket to flush the loo....

I can't have a shower because there's no cold water.. so I called for a plumber.. and unbelievably they are so overwhelmed with work, like the electrician... that they told me they couldn't come until the 18th of September...:eek::eek:

So I rang around and all the plumbers are saying the same, that they just don't have a slot available before 7 days... finally I found one who can come on Thursday... but jeez... THURSDAY.... no shower before Thursday... brush my teeth in hot water until Thursday...flush the toilet with a bucket until Thursday...:(:(:(

Everything goes wrong all at once doesn't it ?

So what you're saying @Supernatural, is that you're skipping Monday. Sounds like that might be a good idea.

The weathernerds lied again. This time it was a sin of omission. Not one word about rain. I work up during the night to the sound of rain lashing against my bedroom window. Now I'm suspicious...there's no mention of rain anywhere close by. Geez. Who can we trust?

I'm gonna fiddle around in the garden a bit this morning, do a load of laundry and then vacuum The Hovel. DD might have a plan to run errands. If she does, I'll go along because ya never know. It could be that I have an errand to run, too, and I won't know it until I get out.
I heard some raining late last night. There was mentions of possible thunderstorms via "weather alerts" but didn't hear a thing if there'd been. Crazy? Yes! LOL 🤣😂🤣

Was supposed to have toddler GS today but last night DDIL texted that he was running a fever of 101° so we passed. Whatever illness he's got, DS & DDIL have already been exposed so it's best they keep it to themselves. No doubt the little guy will be better in a day or two.

Need to pick up some books that are being held at my library branch and want to grab a couple of things I forgot when grocery shopping last Friday, but nothing else is on my schedule. Will just have to wait and see where the day takes me. ❤️

@hollydolly, wishing you the best with your diet and your plumbing issues. Eek - no cold water for four days will be a serious challenge.

DD agreed to take me to search for a throw but not until later. Guess the vacuuming will get done now.
Don't know which area you're in, but if in the USA, you could try "Bed, bath and beyond" for lovely throws

Bed Bath & Beyond | The Best Deals Online: Furniture, Bedding, Rugs, Kitchen Essentials & More

PS got to know about them, watching "Click" with Adam Sandler, funny but it's a real brick and mortar store, not fictional lol, good search. If all fails there's always Amazon!

BB&B brick and mortar stores are all closed - at least in the US. It's only online. They've been teetering on the edge of bankruptcy for over a decade.

I finally got some raisin scones from a 'select' bakery but they were not as nice as yours.
Send me two dozen when you make them please.
Now I am craving them again along with that fruit cake in another thread. dreamy-eyes-.gif
Peeps are throwing out and freezin lumps of it and I am dyin for a chunk.

Just heard from DDIL. Baby slept 13 hours and woke up with 103° fever. No other symptoms. Going to the pediatrician in a couple of hours.:eek::eek::eek:

I remember my own kids going through this but it's nevertheless terrifying.

I'll be looking for the update on the baby!
That long sleep was good for him to fight off whatever is "bugging" him, right?
Also the fever to burn off those cooties. ❤️
