.....nothing going on yet. I'm just having my coffee (still a bit left from the old can) and popped in to say "hi".

Diva, if I remember correctly, your timeshare is in Atlantic City. I haven't been there in several decades and was wondering what you do while there. Obvs the Atlantic is there, and you can probably walk the boardwalk, but doesn't the shore pretty much close up after Labor Day? Are boardwalk cafes, shops, pubs, etc. open?Very early this morning, I started packing up food items and bottles of water for my son to take to our timeshare. He is leaving to go down for the weekend, directly from work tomorrow. He'll return Sunday with the keys and I will go down Monday, since it's booked for the week using my annual owners week (a "free" but really prepaid booking). I have to figure out exactly what I'm going to wear and pack my suitcase for him to take when he leaves out at 3:30 tomorrow morning.
Glad it's nearly finished. Hoping this adventure doesn't put too much of a ding in your checking account.Oh, the new pipes are in, new shut off valves all around, Things under sinks finally all put away. Tomorrow, a guy coming to give an estimate on sheet rock replacement for the walls and ceilings that have had holes cut into them. Not sure yet when wall and ceiling repairs will be done. My son will paint.
I'm calmer now, Thanks for asking, SS.
Happy haircut day! LOL. I don't know how long it is now, but by leaving it collar bone length or longer you will still have lots of options as to how to wear it.Inicdentally... Tuesday I'm having my hair cut... not decided just how short I'll go yet.. but it won't be shorter than collar bone length...

Today sounds like it is going to be an adventure for you. I hope it brings you much sunshine on this otherwise gray, overcast day it is predicted to be here in L.A., today. Enjoy your day.I was completely past any flu shot symptoms by mid morning yesterday, not that they were particularly bad. A little general malaise and vague muscle pain.
Today we have toddler grandson. It's been way too long. He was sick with a high fever a couple of weeks ago so DIL stayed home with him, then last week I was in San Diego. We usually have him Mondays & Tuesdays but have missed him so much that we asked for him today.
Thinking about grocery shopping this morning for fresh veggies. TGS is usually a good little shopper, but if he starts to squawk DH turns into a human oyster cracker dispenser.![]()
Ding a ling a ling a ling !!!!!Hoping this adventure doesn't put too much of a ding in your checking account.
Gasoline prices have indeed skyrocketed in Los Angeles recently.I am off to the train station in downtown Los Angeles to learn how to use it. Gas has climbed to over $6.59 per gallon here, and does not look like it will soon stop rising. So while everyone else may strike to demand more pay, I have to figure out how to stretch my pension. We'll see what we can learn, and adjust. Old age does not seem to be about sitting and watching the world go by. It more seems like you have to learn to run faster and eat less.
My local Citgo is $3.73 per gallon right now.Gasoline prices have indeed skyrocketed in Los Angeles recently.
According to Average gas price rockets past $6 in LA County for first time in nearly a year:
"The increasing pump prices are the result of rising crude oil prices stemming from "oil supply cuts in Saudi Arabia and Russia, plus concerns over disruptions to oil exports from Libya following deadly flooding in that OPEC nation," Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager, told City News Service.
"Refinery issues in Southern California have led to lower inventory which is putting upward pressure on pump prices as well," Shupe said. "It is hopeful we will see relief as early as the end of this month when some gasoline cargoes are likely to end up on the West Coast. Also, we will see additional relief when the cheaper, winter-blend fuel enters the marketplace at the end of October."
I can't remember the last time I paid in the threes for gasoline. Lucky you!My local Citgo is $3.73 per gallon right now.
same here...skyrocketed with avengeance... £1.60 for ONE LItRE of Unleaded petrol... £7.20 per gallon... that's $8.80 US at the current exchange rateGasoline prices have indeed skyrocketed in Los Angeles recently.

Close enough to the same, here.My local Citgo is $3.73 per gallon right now.
I'm not sure how long the pier with the rides stays open. I spend most my time at the timeshare to tell you the truth. I enjoy walking the boardwalk or over to Gardner's Basin where the boats and a couple of restaurants and quaint boutiques are. Once I took the mini cruise with Atlantic City cruises, but I read that they've shut down that area for renovations. I can be just as happy just relaxing, sitting on the balcony watching the boats go by.Diva, if I remember correctly, your timeshare is in Atlantic City. I'm asking because I might be going to that area around this time next year.
sorry you're going through such pain.Facing harsh realities. Very harsh. Been dancing around with hope, prayers, and dreams - but they're not real. I struggle with knowing the reality of my life due to the illness/lack of willing of others. Or rather, FACING that reality. It's probably time to do so. Doing nothing does nothing. Doing something makes it worse. Loving people sometimes brings heartbreak. And then you think you're being selfish for expecting something, anything, from others.
Mistakes made, and that can easily fixed, are turned into walls. You can't talk to someone whose intent is to close down every argument with either a brush of the hand or screaming at me. You cannot, and must not, control someone else. But when saying nothing brings pain, what do you do? It's not about me. But I can't help someone who slams every door in my face.
So I sit, with heavy heart. Their actions mean I'm going nowhere, and at this time of life, that seems especially cruel. But I can't say anything, because it just amplifies. Gonna log off and stare at the rain drenched windows. Everything was for nothing, and I didn't know until right now. I face an uncertain future in many ways. What's the point of a home with only you in it? *sigh*
If you can do better - DO BETTER.
I'm sorry for you.So I sit, with heavy heart.
I've done so for a long time. One does get used to it, and then mostly prefer it. You can too. Wishing you comfort, sooner than later. What's the point of a home with only you in it? *sigh*
