What are you doing today 2023

I understand feeling exhausted after a social event. For the last year or so I've felt the same. If I have a socila event..or a long day out.. I'm shattered the ext day.

Once upon a time I could go on day after day like the energiser Bunny.. people always asked where I got my energy from.. but now this last year... not the same at all.

The thing is despite being in my late 60's.. I look much younger.. and so when I tell people, I'm sorry but I need the next day to rest.. they laugh and think I'm joking, because they forget I'm chasing 70...
I think you and I are the same age so it’s probably that approaching 70 thing:)). I took down all the Xmas decorations and then got a second wind and cleaned out closets, took stuff to the thrift store, did a bunch of errands and got 10k steps.

The most significant thing I did was putting in studio time tonight. I re-recorded the vibe track for my dance tune. The song was originally recorded on the Clavinova and I still need to get used to using the midi keyboards. We are very pleased with how the recording came out though. I have to add one more part before we start the editing and mixing process.

yes I can do all of those things and more one day.. sometimes 2 days in a row, but I need the next day to just rest. I have OA in my knees my back and my fingers, so I get very sore..

I just had a call from the garage... they found the back box on the exhaust is broken so they're going to have to weld on a new one.. they found Brake discs corroded... and a small oil leak albeit not excessive.

They can order the parts today and have the work done by tomorrow, so I can use the car on Thursday to get to the hospital but they won't have time to do the MOT... so as the MOT runs out on the 4th of January, I'll have to book it back into the garage after Christmas ... he's quoted an interim figure of £500

Not sure what I will be doing today until I see how it looks outside. If it is not raining or snowing and has dried up a bit I will go to the Grand Union to get bananas and berries for my bunny boy. If not, I will have to get a grocery delivery which I did not want to do yet. I don't like to get my mobility chair wet underneath. Afraid of it rusting. These things have to be babied.

I also have some items to put downstairs in my storage locker. I hate to put more things in it since I have just cleaned out a few things recently. I will see what I can get rid of before I add more to it.

It's absolutely lashing down here.. verrry wet... and a neighbour over the road is having trees chopped down, and the guys are soaked, while putting the branches through the noisy shredder...

I had an accident yesterday.. which caused me to rip open the palm of my hand....its quite painful but no need for a Doctor. However I'm having trouble keeping plasters on it... :(

Just the gym today and pay a few bills. Last night I met some friends for our virtual dinner we have. We laughed the entire time. I have so much fun with them. We meet again next year. We are all widowed and one widower. We had a storm yesterday but I think the flooding is over and roads will be fine today.

It's a beautiful day here, cold but with clear blue sky. Unfortunately, forecast is not so good for tomorrow. We went to pick up a few last items for the larder and ended up spending a fortune. I think we've got enough in the freezers to last till Easter! Trouble is,we can't resist a bargain.
Both Lidl & Tesco were selling packs of vegetables for 15p, though I fear that fresh veges are not on the top of many peoples' shopping list.

Today, Dio and I both have dental appointments after we go to the gym. He is having a tooth pulled, and I'm having the follow up for the tooth ache from a week and a half ago. That tooth started hurting again yesterday, right after (during?) lunch. It continued to hurt until I took some acetaminophen before bed. So, I'm not sure what will happen for my appointment.

We woke up late 🤣 so we've just beginning our yellow split pea, carrots and lardons soup. 30 minutes, then adding a roux and we'll have a nice thick soup with croissants and pastrami for lunch.

No rain, but all surfaces are still wet. Thankfully, sun has just broken out from behind the clouds. Won't last long, sadly, we'll have to put the LED Lamp on in about half an hour.

I dislike updates on software or hardware. They cause issues which is annoying as normally, they're out the gate, super-duper quickly with our 5G service.

It means unplugging the lead to streaming puck, wait a minute, replug and hope for the best 😂😂😂.

My turn today to trim the tree, aka I'm the village builder. Then, it's hoovering the house and later on, jump in the shower to get ready for mad two shopping days to find the prized turkey 🦃🦃🦃

Thankfully, unlike my beloved GGF, I won't have to catch, kill and pluck ours. However, the one advantage is that we knew how fresh the bird was and a guarantee of finding the delicious organs aka the heart, kidneys, liver and all the good bits.

Pretty much a routine, daughter and I, tremendously enjoy, after completing a year completely on our own. Pat on the back...

Morning all folks!!!! Slept fairly well....cold at 31deg F right now, not warming much...no precip expected...this dang pc is running
slow this morning, may be Spectrum problem...I'm still rather
bummed out about the laptop, my own fault tho, I expect things to work properly with out knowing all the workings of it...
So we will see what happens...Got to make some calls about medical bills today....kinda sore in the joints this morning too...ah well...have a great day all !!!! :):devilish:

One of our past maintenance guys left a bunch of canned food in one of our storage rooms so going to take it all to a small soup kitchen that will be happy to have it. Then tonight a friend is having a grand opening of his men’s salon for manicures and pedicures which I find a unique business. Will be interesting to see if it’s successful.

That's all you need at Christmas - NOT. Strange that they have to weld on a back box - they're usually clamped. I thought that I would need a new back box on my van as the original one was falling apart, but the garage said that it was OK and would still be better than a replacement. It still cost a lot to replace a broken front spring.

I've had no MoT problems with my van, but Mr's L's VW's had the habit of failing with parts that you wouldn't normally expect to give trouble. We gave up on VWs.

he's just rung again.. said the parts all arrived this afternoon, they'll get on with it in the morning.. and the total will be £550 plus Vat.. I worked out vat will be £110 @20%.. so this is not going to be cheap.. £670...

..plus.. he can't do the MOT.. and I can't book it in with him for after Christmas for an MOT because he's leaving for a holiday, and won't be back until after my MOT is due.. so all that money and I still have to take it somewhere else to be MOT'd.. :(

..dya think I should ask why the back box is being welded on and not clamped ?

@hollydolly, how many km and what year is your car? Is it time to consider a new one in the near future.
oh yes I've been looking for a new car for the last year. Trouble is.. here in the UK, used cars prices have gone through the roof, in some cases you are likely to pay more for a used car now than when it was new... and I can't afford a brand new car unless I buy something small..under £10k... so I've been searching without much luck for months... in fact just last night again.

However the other thing is.. this car I have now my Ford.. owes me nothing.. it's been a brilliant car I've had more than it's best from it.. and it still is in near new condition because I keep it nice and have it serviced regularly ... so I feel I should just hold onto it while it's not haemorrhaging money...
