Freaking out a little but letting it pass as false readings.

Blood sugar when I got up read way high. Cleaned another finger well, "spent" another test strip, gut a much lower reading but still higher than anticipated.

Got on the scale and wow, weird reading. Tried again, same. I didn't record yesterday but I'd "lost" a lot of darned weight in just two days. Maybe a lot was water but I monitor that and it doesn't really fit either.

I think in both cases low temperatures are at play. I'll keep the glucose monitor kit in a warmer location now and move the scales.

dilettante,, are you walking or doing some sort of exercise?
Both should help with your 'number's & weight control.

My husband is broader line diabetic.
He's always been a hard worker, cutting trees, making firewood works for him.

The last few days have been too nasty to work out side.
He's has mostly played on his tablet, watched TV & played with the dog.
When he gets up from the sofa,,its very slow, & walking is difficult.

When he complains, I remind him how long he has sat.

I'm trying to extend my walking and try to walk fast as much as possible. Added some stari climbing and some other things. Too cold to walk with ankle weights right now, but before long we'll have snow which means heavier boots as well as he extra effort of walking in snow and on ice.

But 6 pounds lost in 2 days? Not believiable.

I just saw four white butterflies around my wife's lemon tree, but I never caught them all in one picture.

At the bottom or base of the lemon tree flower, new lemons are starting to grow

Our daughter, who lives in China, is at home over Christmas. In one hour we have to return her rental car that she used to see her out-of-town friends (in-town she is using our cars.) Renting is cheaper than reactivating her old mothball car (insurance, registration for one year, smog check, oil change, and all the hassle.)

Inside our chicken coop are gopher holes, and outside the coop birds are waiting for a free handouts. We can't let the chickens out of the coop because of coyotes and hawks.

BTW, yesterday I passed my driving-license renewal tests (in California every 5 years,) and now I can continue driving till my 93rd birthday. Per DMV, California has about 71,000 seniors age 90+ who are still legally driving. Hearsay: the oldest is 104 years old.

@hollydolly you got it right, it's a Toyota Camry (we always book cheap cars and almost always get free upgrades. Last time in Munich: for peanuts we got a car will all the bells and whistles that I didn't know how to use.)

Since so many talk about the weather: for the first time in ages, we had last night 6/10" of rain even though 2-4" had been forecasted. We might even see some snow on the mountains.

@Georgiagranny & @hollydolly you are about 6 hours apart (US South-East Coast and London)

@Pepper as you noticed with your cats, I also noticed with my dogs: size doesn't matter as much among animals as aggressiveness.

He whose name cannot be mentioned.. had a car some years ago, the same shape as that blue one in your pic... his was a Red Toyota Coupe..

Cats both wearing cones to protect surgical stitches. As former shelter cats they were ear chipped as well as spay/neuter. When they first got home last night they were groggy and banging into walls, etc. Then, shocked at the sight of each other they were growling & she was hissing. She's the tougher one, Louie is scared of Gidget even though she is so much smaller. I noticed Buffy was the boss of Max, too.

Still have lingering effects from Covid, and while I continue to feel better I don't feel well. I think we three should just stay home and chill, don't you?

Tomorrow I get to see grandson again after a couple of weeks and I am excited about that.

Oops! Forgot to buy son/dil xmas presents. Will have to go with some gift certificates at this late date. Hope I remember..........

Wind is still quite strong.💨💨.. Just been in the garden..no damage thank goodness.. I pretty much secured everything yesterday..

My knees are hurting today.. not badly but noticeably.. I had an almost pain free day yesterday.. the pain didn't return after 6 hours like they said it might.. but it did return in the middle of the night and woke me up.. so I didn't get much sleep..

I haven't resorted to any pain relief yet.. I just want to wait and see if it lasts first

I have a hair appointment today at 12:30 so have to get most of my house work done before I leave. I will be too tired to do it all when I come home. Since I am walking I am praying the day stays clear. I can walk in the rain or snow but would prefer not to have to. It is not very far from my apartment so it should be a pleasant walk. I look forward to it as my salon is pretty lively.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Dio is officially on the "naughty" list!!!! 😡. He has been dropping little comments about how his mouth still hurts. When I look at him, his face is all swollen...it looks like he has a golf ball in his mouth!!! I've been really worried. He's not on any antibiotics, and if his infection is getting worse (or even sepsis!!!!), there is nothing that he can do about it until after the Holiday.

Well, all of that is true, but......
He's been puffing up his cheek to make it look worse than it actually is, just to tease me!!!! It really is swollen, but not as bad as I thought it was. Santa is NOT happy!!!

Well it's still verrry windy here.. but thankfully no rain..

I've got the laundry done.. the first load is in the dryer now..

This is probably going to sound mad, but I looked at the Christmas ornaments in the livingroom.. and thought, what's the point of this, no-one is coming here over Christmas.. so I took them all down.. and packed them away. I'm really not in the mood for it tbh...

The only thing left up is the Wreath on the front door..

I vac'd out the car.. and put back my storage box which holds various items like oil and water and tyre inflator etc..

..it's just after 2pm... the kids are all off school now until January 4th.. , and the road is very quiet because most people have gone shopping or away on a trip...

Still not taken any painkillers for my knees.. I don't want to mask the pain, until I see if it's going to last more than the 48 hours they suggested it might..
