Rescuing a damsel in distress. Her toilet kinda exploded. The fill valve blew a leak and was spewing water everywhere and down the side of the tank. Decided to do an entire inside tank rebuild, as everything was ancient. Took 3 hours, including the trip to the hardware store, but all turned out well.
Aside from that, going to a wonderful dinner tonight at the Italian Village. It's only done by special invitation, but I managed to get one, and it's gonna be great. They serve like 7 courses, lots of wine, and it's all outdoors and family style at big picnic tables. Cost is $30 (Not bad).

Cost is $30...for all THAT.... wow !!..Have a great time Bob....

Sounds like a busy time!
Good job on the tiny paragraphs, btw. 😁
Tiny paragraphs are my speciality. I'm an independent author who's learn creative writing years ago. Many teachers called them reading bites. I call them quatrain. I try to keep it to four lines. Although, I've the advantage of four years Speedreading courses.

Great for error catching to begin with, but there was a time in my first few months of work that I managed to devour 5 books weekly. I had an impressive library back then.

It lasted until the 1990s when it was lost to extensive water damages by ensuite loo which broke down after we'd gone to bed. Included with my books were two collection magazines of Royalty and I can't remember the other, but all about Diana, Princess of Wales and Sarah, Duchess of York.

I love to write but at the same time, I want my readers to be able to enjoy my blabbering LOL!
Darn it! Landlord's insurance never paid and the 31 August came with Diana's death. Argh! 😫😫😫

Yeah, there are several Italian families that live in close proximity to each other, and during the summer, they gather their families together for these feasts. You have to know someone to get invited. Anyway, the woman who's toilet exploded, she works at a winery that is either connected to them or they buy a lot of their wines there. So it was her that managed to get me invited.
They have a huge outdoor kitchen, lots of great homemade Italian food, everyone is friendly, and they treat you like family. I've only been once before, but It's quite an event.

Great photo, there, of the rocks and wildflowers, @David777

Sounds from this thread, that some of us have had
too-much-excitement days, this week!
Gosh, for one:
@hawkdon with the indoor visiting wild animals!

I also hope that the heat reduces especially for your breathing! I wonder if those animals' proximity inside your walls, made your breathing worse, as well.

Wow, maint guy showed up on a Saturday@!!!! Great...he's going to cover
the crawl space hole with wood where they came in, then put live traps out
to ketch 'em !!!!! Said something about putting pepper and garlic in the
space to keep them away also....96 deg and 110 h.i. now...enuff!!!

Welp, maint guy has done his thing and I think it will solve the issue of the coons gettin inside the furnace room....also put a live trap outside...good job....
That's what I'm getting ready to do around here. Put up screens around the perimeter of my house, and at the entrances to my attic. The raccoons and rats drove me crazy last season.
There's also some vents and attic fans on my roof they need to screen.

When you say that your maintenance guy put live traps out....do you mean cages?

With hollydolly's WOW response, I better clarify. The screens will be going around my roof area, not my whole house. For some reason where my roof over hangs, it's all open air there where the house and roof meet. There's a constant stream of light shining in the attic. It's crazy.

I'm still taken aback, Dobielvr by the fact you have Racoons and RATS....ugh !!

I am getting ready to go to bed. The plan will be to do the Walmart and one other store this evening when it cools off. I think we are looking at another 100 degree day. Walmart for normal stuff, the other store is to pick up loss leader sale to restock the pantry with cereals, chips, gatorade for the grandson.

No real plans for today. Might go to the Grand Union on Jazzy sometime today. Planning on walking in the park this morning for sure. I have not been doing my morning walk because my friend has not been able to do it (family coming to visit her). I have noticed that I am having more trouble walking (knees) and I think it is because I am not walking every day like I was doing.

@StarSong so you are one of those many in Los Angeles with a home with a pool in the backyard. Love it! I was born in downtown Los Angeles. My mind can still imagine how its unique 1950s smoggy smell used to be and how that would change on a day we little kids would be driven down to the salty seashore ocean smells of Santa Monica beaches.

Morning breakfast clubbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow another ruff
sleep nite, dunno why for sure, maybe due to tuff time breathing, or whatever....see I have one Possum in the live
trap, will call maint later to remove it...hope it does not take too long to catch the coons...on the other hand, My left leg is
bothering me this morn, feels sore and weak, dunno what that's all about...Still hotter than hades, 75 already, getting around 100 again later on.....good day to all !!!!! :p:cool::love:

Just a follow up. Here is the pic from last night. There were about 150 people there in all. Food was great: Appetizers (Crackers, cheese, salami, prosciutto, melon, dip & chips), salad, bread, pasta, fresh green beans in a sauce, sliced pork, and dessert was homemade cookies). Lots of conversation and laughter, and of course, wine aplenty. Very enjoyable evening.

I'm still taken aback, Dobielvr by the fact you have Racoons and RATS....ugh !!
@hollydolly @dobielvr one house a while back in TX. Had racing Cockroaches they'd be coming out at night through the pipes, especially the one under the dishwasher. The very last time I ever used a dishwasher. My load was done after 3 hours long wait.

The sewers backed up from the flooding rain and well I had to do the dishes by hand. It was disgusting, worst then them cockroaches lol!

Rats, only once at the garbage refuse box at back of flats. Racoons never, but my Father kept one as a pet, he found abandoned in the woods as a baby.

OMG...I seriously couldn't cope with Rats near my property.

We once rented a house in Spain... it was the year we bought our own home in a different area .. the property we rented was brand new.. just months old.. but there was other properties unfinished all around it, so it was basically a building site ... and it was the first time I ever saw Cockroaches... the size of Sparrows.. OMG...disgusting... I almost freaked out... well I did actually.. ..:sick:

Had a wonderful morning again, with CoffeeBean and his kisses. After my morning routine, we got ready for our shopping trip.

Opening the door to put our two trolleys out, noticed a box from DPD Delivery. I received flowers from a customer rep at my new energy company. It also came with a card. We were both in tears.

Had a wonderful time at Aldi's. Mid-month groceries, our biggest, but we've got food, meals for nearly a month now. Very happy.

Turkey trimmings was one item. Made toasted sandwiches for lunch plus a split can of Chicken Leek soup (just like school's cafeteria) yummy! Plus a tropical blast soda, pineapple and grapefruit on ice cubes. Full.

Watching Pirates of Carribbean series, currently on film 2 Dead Man's Chest. Washing started, we'll hang it out later, good wind today.

Oh and we got a squirrel feeding station plus a wee bird house. No glue, just snap construction. Fun!
