What are you doing today 2023

Got all the laundry done today..now the first load is in the Dryer... of course the door has to be held shut with a rig up, because it's broken, but it works well enough to save me buying another dryer...
Got a Temu delivery today... in the delivery was some really pretty pens...which cost pennies.. and they look as nice as they do online.. also a Solar Garden ornament...

Had to clean the drain in my shower plughole today... water wasn't draining away after I had my shower.. so I had to take the drain apart, and get the drain cleaner down there..*ugh* all that slimey soap covered hair. The Bane of having long hair...

Just got dinner on now.. gonna have Potato fritters.. Baked beans, and French ham
 

Needed to get out of the house so I did some errands. It is getting HOT outside so I was glad to get home.
On these hot afternoons we have been watching Game of Thrones. There's a lot of sexual and violent content for this old lady but I guess I've gotten used to it and can look past it to the story. I just look down at my crochet when it gets too much. 😊
Otherwise, we work outside early, come in, cool off then pitter around inside before G of T comes on.

The drain cleaning is definitely my least fave job too, @hollydolly 🤢. I try to stay ahead of it with the max/strength drain crystals every six weeks or so
 

Do you think this will be alright to use or should I get a preventer ?

Perfect Day. It's been warm lately (You know, hot August nights, etc...), but today was a rare exception, as the remnants of tropical storm Hil made it's way into Northern Cal. Anyway, I saw the temps were gonna be in the 60's, so I marked today as a hiking day on Boggs Mountain. I made up some slow cooker pulled pork in the morning and just let it perk.
After that, grabbed my stuff and headed out. It was hovering around 60 deg on the mountain, a slight breeze, and drifting fog. Perfect weather for a hike. I even needed a jacket. I hoofed out several miles, and it was so exhilarating, I had to force myself to turn around. I just wanted to keep going on forever. Conditions like that just make you feel alive in nature.
Anyway, made my way back to the truck, with heart in tow, but it was a stellar hike, and when I got home, pulled pork was just waiting for me to chow down. It was a five star day.

Just makes me think of the phrase; ”The great outdoors”
 
I've been trying for over an hour to 'harpoon' with a pin a deep splinter in an awkward place in a finger. The finger is now like a pin cushion, so I think the only solution is to dig in deep with the pin and gouge the beggar out. Stop grimacing, it's my finger not yours. 😊
