Reporting in post-hurricane from S GA.

we had lots of rain and wind but no tornados. Quite a few branches down in my yard (they were already dead/in need of coming down) but we don’t lose power.

Got lots of knitting done

So. Tomorrow I'm gonna get up and get morning stuff done, get dressed, go out and take a turn around the garden, all in an effort to feel better. Maybe resuming what's a sort of normal routine will help. Trying to think positive. Besides, my butt is sore from sitting.

My wife & I are shucking some of our corn. We'll keep some out for fresh eating, shave the kernels off of the rest for freezing, so it can be used in cooking through the other seasons. Later today, I'll be working with a friend to repair the rototiller.
I've done much the same this year concerning corn. Enjoyed some of it fresh and froze the rest.

Got up at 2 am today after getting up at 3 am for last 3 days. I'm slap happy. Hope I'm ok today. Worried about kidney ultrasound I took; my doctor took long enough to inform me there was a problem. Maybe I'll sue him, I know good lawyers. Gave up good lawsuits in the past. I'm not a suer; not generally.

Hey gang!!! Slept a little poorly last eve, too many things
going on at same time in my brain I think LOL...going to bank
today to get cash to keep on hand....friend last eve called and
we talked quite a bit, course she's a talker...she was trying to convince me to start going to Community center which is
about 4 miles from me, via senior bus, for a meal and chat
sessions with other old's like myself....got to thinking, that
would just make more possibility's for me to fall some more!!!!
Don't need that...but she means well....had a good chat with her...Going to try and get signed up into new bank, which has taken over my regular bank....hope I can do it without too much hair pulling....right now time for sausage and eggs then a shower....later gang.....

"Just don't know what to do with myself..." a funky song that, no doubt, creeps in our heads from time to time.

Well today, that's how I feel... It's a sad day as 26 years ago, Diana Princess of Wales died in that horrible car crash in France.

Daughter and I have pushed through so much since the loss of my husband. We're exhausted and can't wait to turn the calendar to September.

So, it's an extremely quiet day...

Hawkie...why don't you get yourself a scooter..like this...
Drive_Ambassador.jpg
it will remove the fear of falling , and allow you to go back out into the world and enjoy time with new friends...

Well ..lookie here... Amazon delivered the picture hooks which were supposed to be delivered yesterday..along with another item that wasn't supposed to be here until Friday... and Fridays' other item is still to arrive.. how ridiculous!

Anyway, the irony of it all..is that the Masonary picture hooks which I use on all the wall hangings in my house are no good for the mirrored wall hangings, they just can't fit properly.. so now I'll have to look at some other way of hanging them..*scratches head*

Holly, nice of you to think of this.....it would I'm afraid be
too hard to use with local traffic, not to speak of just getting
down my "hill" to the street out front...I am thinking of a
walker with seat for in the home however...if I stand for more
than a few mins I starting getting extreme pain in hips/back....
ah well....:coffee:

That's a pity Hawkie.. it could have given you some freedom... speak to @katlupe about a walker with a seat, I'm sure she could give some advice..

Well. So far it ain't working very well. I did do a few little things around the hovel, started a load of laundry. Not enough starch in my legs to carry me around the garden so I contented myself with sitting on the patio and looking at flowers (while making a plan in my head for next year).

@hawkdon , before you start changing things with the bank, check with them first.

I think they make the changes automatically. This has been the case for me and a few others I know.

I hope that you find ways to enjoy and take care of your little grandson, Fri-Sat as planned,
without making your poor back hurt any more!
Thanks for the good thoughts, but I'll likely have a setback when he's here. With luck it won't be too bad or enduring.

Between the rest, occasional naproxen and ibuprofen, and the acupuncture, the pain has lessened. Another acupuncture session this afternoon will hopefully continue the improvement.

One of the major bummers of this is that I can't swim right now, and swimming season is rapidly coming to a close. First world problems, I know...

Anyway, today I'm planning to slowpoke around again. Laundry this morning and might whip up a batch of quinoa salad at some point. A few other things here and there, but it'll mostly be a relax-the-back day.

weirdly Star...I find swimming really relaxes my back...just gentle swimming on my back..never on my front that will make things worse...Hope you feel better soon 🤗

listen to me Gigi...you've got to stop..seriously...you've got Covid, your body is weak... you're not 21..you MUST rest your body... you're in real danger of making yourself very ill if you continue.. .. resting doesn't need to mean lying in bed... just sit, watch TV..read a book.. read a flippin' plant album if you have to.. use the internet, play games if your concentration will let you... sleep.. get others to wait on you, eat when you can , keep hydrated .. worry and stress over nothing... ...but you must remember you're in your 80's.. if you don't rest there's a good chance you're not returning to work..🤗

@hollydolly Wait. What? You mean to tell me that I'm old and sick? Crap on a cracker  So what you're saying is that I shouldn't go out today and plow the north forty? Tomorrow? How about tomorrow? Is it okay for me to plow the north forty tomorrow? LOL

I did rest for a little bit and even got sort of hungry for, of all things, egg salad. So that's what I ate.

Now I'll rest some more. It might make me younger.

you might be getting on a bit and 20 years older than most retirees... and that's because you're young thinking..and look after yourself... so you have to remember that this time... so you can still be here making all the baked good for those who might not be looking after themselves as well as you do..
