What are you doing today 2023

Got the gumption to get the ladder hauled around and climbed it to fiddle around re-hanging one end of an eavestrough gutter. I've had issues there ever since I had the place reroofed a few years back. Had them out to make repairs twice, then they said their damages were settled. Grr.

Well my lawn guy is out there doing his best to chop up
all the 50million leaves all over the place.....58deg F here now...
looks like rain but don't think it will....
since I had that Holly tree chopped down in the summer... I don't miss having to rake up carpets of leaves every single day. Now I just have the laurel leaves , and they only blow off onto the lawn when it;s been windy... I can cope with that

Raining today so decided to remove the kitchen double sink and put in a wide, deep single one. :)
What started this was the frozen turkey didn't fit in the split sink, so, it was time for a wide one. Meanwhile, I left the turkey floating in the Jacuzzi over night to thaw. o_O Worked great as the temp wasn't set up high in the hot tub. (y)

This morning bought for $22 each, 2 more SanDisk USB 3.1, 256gb flash drives. Continuing to gradually manually back-up personal files from a desktop and laptop. Most of the space are photography image files, video files, and MP3 and WAV audio files. So far have filled 5 each 256 gigabyte flash drives with a sixth in progress. Yesterday took a hammer to a flaky one terabyte flash drive and a flaky 256gb flash drive that I'd spent hours repeatedly formatting and bringing back to initial states, trying to use for back-ups. So nearly complete. Otherwise while the copying is ongoing am on my Dell laptop, studying science on Youtube.

After filing up each 256gb drive, I open up a command prompt window then run the below that are left on those drives as well as copies into each computer.

@hollydolly
I saw a few pages back, about your appt. Did they give you any sort of band to wear, to decrease the pain of that abdomen? Or will they wait, till the ultrasound? I hope you are feeling better.

Dropping by here, to say hello, to all of you. I've been nursing numerous problems, recently, and coping from stress to stress, or barely coping:confused:......or at times, not coping.

But I am still here, and so is DH. We got our vaccines, now, and without any terrible effects.
I accomplished getting us signed up, yesterday, for a new and much cheaper Part D. It looks to me, after my own research, that most of the cheap ones follow the same guidelines as the expensive ones. And when I had an expensive one, it didn't cover any more than the cheapest one did, so I am going with the cheap one, this time around.
Whew! The cost of groceries, and other items, have gone so high, that I cant pay what I once did, and that higher priced Part D seems like a waste of money to me now, anyway.

Looking like you're in GOOD shape SD! I have had a sink like your new one for decades and I love it. I don't see how people can get by with those itty bitty sinks and I've never cooked a turkey in my life. 😅 You saved yourself a lot of money by being able to do the work yourself.

@Kaila So sorry you are going through whatever it is that's stressing you out. Hope the situation(s) get resolved soon.

Today was more accounting (bookkeeping, or rather spreadsheet keeping). This time it was for my son's account with me. I tallied up his charges and cash backs from said charges to our various credit cards, added them to his monthly household obligations, then sent him his payment schedule for December. I do this every month. I put the cards I won't be using back in our secret place and cleared the dining table.

I didn't do other things I intended due to impromptu naps. I need to research my new meds more thoroughly. I'm beginning to think one of them is making me drowsy. After I eat and take my meds, I wind up falling asleep. Or maybe I'm just letting laziness take over.

Had a poor nights sleep. Only got two hours.

Got up and walked the dog. Met my Egyptian neighbors, which is always fun. They speak probably three words of English, but "dog" is one of them. But bless their hearts, they're desperate to take the time and "chat", which mainly comes down to sign language. Nice people.

Came back and watched a video debunking Flat Earthers. I think a bowl of cereal might be next...........

Found out I lost 2 sisters-in-law up in Canada this year. Out of my husband's eight sisters only 2 are left. Will write letter to one of them today, to let her know of my losses. It's been quite a year for that.

I'm real bad at communicating, and it gets worse as time goes on. Is it some sort of decline on my part or something else I wonder?

I have a hair appointment this afternoon so going to get all my household chores done before I leave. It is supposed to be another nice day today so happy about that as I will be walking to my appointment.
I much prefer to walk to places I go rather than drive or take the bus. It gives me a greater sense of community, neighborhood, or place. Also, I notice a lot more. Driving means I must fight to get there, wherever there is. When on the bus I appreciate a conversation with another rider, but unfortunately that's rare.

Went grocery shopping at 7 am. Store was almost empty. I wouldn't have gone except I needed to get ingredients for a casserole I promised to make for the church pot luck luncheon. Then came home and did a load of laundry. Lots of exciting stuff!
Is this the church pot luck with the confusion about who was invited. Did that ever get settled.

I am enjoying a beautiful fall day. The leaves are mostly gone and it gets dark before five but I would not give up my four seasons for all the money in the world! The only part I dislike is the mid-summer heat! But here that doesn't last very long!
