What are you good at?

I don't mean talents you could put on a resume. What about the little things that make the day go better. Some people can make paper airplanes or whistle a tune. Others can arrange flowers or tell when others are uncomfortable. Some remember everyone's birthday.
I think I am good at judging what size bowl to put the leftovers in and that goes for serving sizes as well. How about you?

I have a Sat Nav brain. A very keen sense of direction. People are always amazed that I can find places that are very difficult to find even with a Sat Nav.. and I rarely ever need one...

I also have an eye for measurement. I can look at anything , and know almost precisely the length and angle of it.. without a tape measure. It's handy in day to day use.. but it also helped me be a very good Billiard player and become the Ladies County Billiard Champion because I can see a virtual line between the balls or the pockets....like someone's drawn the exact place to put the ball...to hit another ball or pocket

Excellent. And congratulations on being the billiard champion!

I'm good at collecting traditional pocket knives like your grandpaw might have carried
... and lint ... have enough lint to go in all my jean's pockets ... without even trying

Also seem to be pretty good at piddling around. In retirement, I've made a successful career of it
In fact, I'm CEO of my own piddling around group. A small group, just myself and a boy dog

Often wished I could play a musical instrument ... but that hasn't happened and forecast for it is hazy

My 4+ decade career here in Silicon Valley was hardware electronics most often as a lead senior tech within engineering groups. Spent long hours looking through stereo microscopes down on circuit boards with tiny microcircuits and working with tools and complex test equipment instrumenting and repairing PCBs. Sort of like the old watchmaker repair person, am very talented using my hands in controlled stable precision ways.

And looking at PCBs for faults through a stereo microscope is like looking down for something in a city from an airplane. So am also good at visually looking for things that long ago there was a time that made me good at putting together jigsaw puzzle pieces.

And for almost as long have been a landscape and nature photographer using tripod mounted high end cameras that likewise require careful precision hand dexterity adjusting controls and lens positions. For many years I used a 4x5 film view camera. When digital photography rose in the 1990's, I also was an early user of Adobe Photoshop where precision hand skills are also necessary for much post processing work.

Use Excel in lots of complex ways. This is a jpg screen capture of an Excel file for a backpacking trip I may do in August that I just load in some numbers and it does calculations filling other cells:

I always loved maps. it looks like we don't have quite as much use for them these days

Guess who writes the greeting cards in our home?

Hearing.

In fact, I just had my hearing tested, just two weeks ago. I have very young ears, apparently.

I think it comes from my music listening, where I concentrate on fine detail.

It means I can hear taps dripping upstairs, or the slightest sounds. The refrigerator drives me mad, and as for the washing machine..........

I'm very good at making people laugh, sometimes hysterically. I don't think I could do stand up though. My son said he's going to make sure people at my memorial (who may not have experienced my humor) know how hilarious his mother was.

I'm also very good at engaging strangers in conversation, providing insight, encouragement and ultimately making them feel good about themselves and their day. My husband had that ability as well. For example, our waitress at the restaurant where we went to see my friend Hunter perform told me at the end of the evening that she feels blessed to have met me.
