(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me" is a song by songwriting team Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Originally recorded as a demo by Dionne Warwick in 1963, "(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me" first charted for Lou Johnson, whose version reached No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 1964.[1]Sandie Shaw took the song to No. 1 in the UK that same year, while the duo Naked Eyes had a No. 8 hit with the song in the US two decades later in 1983.
Love all these old classics but I've also grown rather fond of this young man:
I'm a huge fan. He does country, he does rock, he does rap, he does country rap aka hick hop and he couldn't sound bad if he tried. It's strange because I don't like country (with some exceptions) or rap but mash the two together and I'm hooked. I also like Adam Calhoun, Tom MacDonald, Jelly Roll, Demun Jones, Struggle Jennings and Caitlynne Curtis.
I've loved this following video since it hit YouTube 15 years ago. It's still my absolute favorite video. Not only is his cat vicious like mine was but I swear his apartment is identical to my second apartment. I thought he must be renting it then found out he was in an entirely different state. Not sure what to make of that. This video is so old that cute kitten has already passed away of old age.
I remember when this came out and they interviewed Johnny as to what the song meant and he said he had no idea and that it made no sense to him and he laughed. He gave the indication that he found it ridiculous.
